A locked review is a review which has not met the required standard this could be content or word count or both.

I wrote 2 reviews that I was really pleased with, well balanced and honest. Both over 150 words. Should I ask them about it? Also, does it mean I don't get paid, which after all is the point of doing it!

That is a question I don't actually know the answer for!

I would suggest dropping them a quick line, get the review ready as I think it'd be fine but you'd probably want to mention it just in the interest of transparency.

I would definitely suggest asking the DooyooTeam first :) You could even post on their Facebook page or ask them on Twitter :)

Thank you so much for your help. They said no problem to writing a review, but like you said, to mention that I know the author.
  • Hi all

Some good tips in this thread, thanks!

I've been reviewing and rating on Dooyoo for a wee while now, and I must admit I love writing reviews but the big drawback for me is the ratings exchange. I understand what others have said about ratings doubling the amount you can earn per review, but they also slow it down drastically for me - I can write a decent review in 30 mins but then spend a good 2-3 hours on returning ratings. I do always return them, in keeping with the spirit of the place, but this is the thing that's going to make Dooyoo time-limited for me - anyone else feel the same?

I'd much rather be writing more reviews with my time, and can't help thinking that if this site worked properly, our ratings would come from people looking for specific reviews, rather than us just being a big captive pool of click-and-raters.

If your ratings came from people looking for specific reviews you would struggle to make as much money as you do, or people like myself. Some of my reviews may only be looked at by ten people who are not members of Dooyoo, yet I still get paid.

I am happy returning rates, even though it takes me much longer than writing reviews, because I enjoy learning about new products, although that is not for everyone.

You will not get paid while you have locked reviews.

I would definitely suggest contacting the DooyooTeam as they will tell you what is wrong with the locked review and how you might be able to resolve things.

Good luck and hope you get on OK with amending your review.
