Busy day with OH at the hospital all day and now staying overnight. He went in for knee surgery but they had a piece of equipment missing so couldn't operate. However, he had already had the anaesthetic so has had to stay in overnight. I was there all evening waiting to see if he's be allowed home! So, no flying done. Tomorrow I am working from home and waiting to pick OH up from hospital. I haven't done any flying this week apart from some washing up! So tomorrow I will try to do Wednesday and Thursday basic cleaning and tackle some of the huuuuuuge ironing pile.

Hugs and well wishes to all in need.

Ionafan no snow vibes for you

LW good luck with your appointment

Deus hope Mr deus gets his op soon

Went for an appointment yesterday and DH opened up to the stranger. 1st time he has. At the end we were asked if it was useful. They suggested DH goes to the Gp for meds for low mood. He has been avoiding this for years. When we got home DH said it was a waste of time but I think otherwise.

Morning routine started but think a HHC wouldn't go amiss.

    Morning everyone

Managed to have a look at Wm last night, blinkin typical no water to be found! Am leaving it pulled out for a day or so while I use it to keep an eye, but sure you know what will happen ;)

Tackling my paperwork today as my decluttering, starting to get it all sorted and filed properly, then make up my cj to stay in kitchen.

No white stuff this am, so fingers crossed, windows outside perhaps? Deep cleaning isn't so bad for me, only in this house 2 weeks and with me flying, cobwebs haven't had a chance to settle :D

Off to catch up, see you all later :)

Deus your DH must be very fed up

Shower, then a bit more flying and then if the frost lifts a bit of gardening now the wheelie is empty.

Good luck with the horse piddle, LW

Tots away to bed after an early collection, since the snow was flying down  so much for our picnic plans tomorrow. Anyway, they had a bath, some supper and watched Madagascar (hilarious). Chucked DD trainers in wm as they were in a state... Also put more washing away.

If we don't get out tomorrow, we might have a bit of a toy edit...

ETA rowantree, we cross posted. My gran passed away recently, and I think it was quite a shock to my mum. I don't think we can ever really be prepared. I think the only advice I could offer E is to be gentle on herself, there are no rules, and this is not a linear process. It's a bumpy road, and we do learn to manage those bumps a little better. And, advice to you, as a good friend, lend an ear, and the odd casserole. Share memories (if you knew mum) and just generally stick around. When DH passed it was amazing how many people said "just call if you need anything" and then I haven't heard from them since the funeral. But then others, whom you wouldn't really have guessed, come up trumps and show you what true friendship means. Hugs to both your friends. So hard. X

Bossymoo, thank you for your lovely words, and you are right, we are never prepared. I always believe in talking about the loved one, sharing memories - especially the good - and funny ones if possible - and although this is my view, and obviously everyone has their own beliefs, I truly believe that this is a way of everlasting life for that person. Whilst there are memories to share, to pass on, they are forever in our hearts. Does that make sense?

Ruby Woo's post was so eloquent, and like many on here, although I don't 'know' you I can see what a super mum and person you are. Lots of love and good wishes, R x
  • Hi there. Up early here, cats and birds fed, they swooped down straight away today as a deep frost here. Porridge made and just going to get another cuppa!

One x DW already done and all washing and ironing up to date, hurrah!

Going to complete some more paperwork after my shower, then work at lunchtime, so want to prepare some art work for that.

Otherwise, I intend to take it easy, our meal for tonight is already prepared so hopefully chill out after work!

Much love and good vibes all round, and good health wishes to all those feeling low or poorly. R x

    Morning All

I have been rubbish at flying & posting this week, DH actually physically sat me down on the chair last night, he said I looked washed out. :eek:I have been feeling a bit out of sorts the last few days, no energy, terrible back & stomach pains this morning driving into work, could have cried with tummy pains. I have decided not to tackle the large hallway as I am starting to paint it over the weekend so it would be double work.

I shall see how I get on with it, if its finished then it will be nice & tidy & let me move sideboard I am selling into DD’s room & sideboard I am keeping into hallway. I am off to see sisters new house tonight, she has split from her partner & her & the four kids are now in a local authority house in a not very nice area & I think she is feeling a bit down. :(

Hugs to all the poorlies & those in pain etc, had a quick skim through the fred but to much for me to remember it all (and I am posting from paid stuff) ;)

Since decorating LR, I have been making sure its spick & span every night, brought rug back in (even though it doesn’t match) as place was cold & echoing as all I have is sofa, dining table & chairs but with just the wooden floor, no soft furnishings etc its rather bare looking, cannot do any more until funds are topped up again.
