    Good morning everyone

Just a very quick post from me as I am running late. ((((hugs)))) to all those who need one, are feeling poorly, are having family problems of any kind, etc.
Good luck to all the mini OSers (and OSers too of course) who have exams of any kind.

DS and DD are both under the weather - typical when its exam time, isn't it? I will make sure they get lots of rest and recreation at the weekend.

Off to w**k (second job - 4 hours of photocopying, oh joy!). Even though its been a short week I really want the weekend to be here.

No idea whats for dinner tonight as I am still on the storecupboard challenge.

    Have a thrilling Thursday. xx

Smokybabe Nice to see you back :)

Just busy busy here again today with house 'stuff' so only a quick post. Finished sorting what was formerly known as the dumping room yesterday :D Study will be finished when I've completed eBaying the pile. (Task for this morning). Off to see SIL this afternoon. 2nd viewing of a house at 4.30... Something from the freezer for dinner.

Hope everyone has a good day, here's hoping for sunshine! x

    Good Morning All

Kyle - I realy do hope your'e ok, and that DH has apologised for his behaviour, he intimidated you and that was so unfair. I know its only juice he threw, but thats still an act of abuse.((((hugs)))) I would be inclined to give him a cloth and let him clear it up, but that might only add fuel to the fire.

taplady - well done on the weight loss, mine has gone to pot this week, only 'cos its that time of the month. What Ive lost in the last 3weeks - I have put on again! I do hope it comes off again soon, I feel all this hard work would be wasted otherwise.

Didn't get the chance to read rest of yesterday's thread. Sorry!!!

After work, I went to school, and then had to take DD for her yearly eye test. She has got a new prescription for new glasses. No significant change in her eyes. She will be re-viewed again next yr.

Then I spent most of the evening searching high and low for my passport. I found it a couple of weeks ago and put it some where safe, (as you do!) Do you think I can find it! I ended up ringing the passport office, and now they tell me I have to fill out a lost form, once they've acknowledged the lost form, then I can apply for a new one. I asked for information about my DD passport, that expired nearly 2yrs ago, but when me & the ex split, he took it with him on purpose to stop me from taking the kids on holiday. The PP office, wont let me fill out a lost form untill I have gained advise from a solicitior and a covering letter of confirmation that I have tried to get it back! It gave me such an headache. I can understand they have to tread carefully, ie - child abduction etc. But Im the parent with parental responsibilities - not him!
So I sent him a text, asking if I can have it back, he said "why, are you taking her on a plane"? so what if I am, its note to do with you! I can never get a reasonable response from him. He still not answered the original question!

He still not text/rung me to keep me posted about exFIL. So your guess is as good as mine about his well-being.

Today is D-Day where my dad will open his birthday cards, and find the letter I have wriiten. Im not expecting some sort of immediate response, to be honest, I think I'll be very lucky if he responds at all, but - at least Ive tried.

OH working until 7pm tonight. I hate it when he's on lates, as my evening routine really goes to pot!

Not much OS today, Im really tired. Roll on the weekend,
Will catch up the news from today
    Love as usual

    PS
Glad to have you back on line Smokey
Scuzz - Im so glad you had the chat with br ref these rumours and now things are back on track.

A day or so ago daddy was feeding Lily her tea. You should have seen them. She was adament that she wasn't going to have it. And he was adament that she was. She looked him straight in the eyes with a 'just try it and you'll regret it face'. Not even blinking. I think that I've got a very determined little character here. I could have problems....

On the plus side she gives the biggest smiles...oh and she's finally getting something that looks like hair!

As far as OS is concerned. A load is in the washingmachine. Would love to hang it out....but washing line is broken. But its not my electricity, so we'll survive somehow (hard though it may be).

Have nearly got our mortgage sorted. Someone is just checkingout our solicitor for us (just in case) and then in the not too distant future we'll be in our own place again. yipeee

    Hello everyone

Keep coming onto the OS board meaning to post, then I search the archives and all my questions have been answered already. Yesterday I found out all about planning a buffet, where to buy a whole salmon and how to cook it - invaluable :T

AMIE, thanks for letting us know about the Boots sale, I've just spent £60  but got *loads* of kids' presents sorted! UKHotdeals have a code for 750 extra points at the moment.

Well, I came here today with the resolve to sign up for the Flylady thread. I've decided that even if I don't do everything every day, it's still worth trying. TBH the house is not too bad but I always feel like it is getting on top of me so I'm hoping this might help.

Crazychik, we are in the middle of a passport muddle too! I woke up yesterday morning having had a dream about passports, and said to DH out of the blue 'Isn't your passport due to run out this year?'. Well, he checked, and weirdly it actually ran out yesterday. Obviously my subconscious mind knew that somehow even though I hadn't looked at his passport since last year. Anyway, we have a holiday booked in 2 weeks   . So I am off to the PO today to get his application sent off, just keeping our fingers tightly crossed. There is no way he can get to a passport office for a fasttrack appointment so we just have to hope it will get through quickly.

OS wise, I am going to try boiling up a gammon joint today with a pack of soup mix from Lidl, should hopefully get a few meals out of it (ham with potatoes, stir fried rice with ham, soup). I also got a very weird and wonderful selection in my veg box this week so am scratching my head over what to do with it all, might have to go and see what Gingham Ribbon is cooking for some inspiration!

(((((Hugs))))))) to anyone who needs them, Kyle I wasn't around yesterday but hope you are OK.

    Have a good day everyone.

Well - I switched my mobile on this morning to receive text from ex, saying sorry, he does DD passport. Its amazing how a little black mail works. I simply said that I have a witness who's prepared to make a statement for my solicitor ref confirmation that he said he took it. !! I was bluffing, but its worked!

rchddap Im so pleased that Lily is making excellent progress. Oh the joys of feeding a lo, brings a smile to my face!

DD has gone to school with a load of used spectacles/glasses. They are collecting them for countries who's eye care is really poor. I put a request on freecycle, and up to yet, Ive had a good response.

Right, best be off and finish my hair then its off to work..
    Have a great day
    Love Emma xxx

spiddy Im sure I read on the passport website, that you'll need to make an appointment if you intend to travel in the next 2 weeks. Double check though
https://www.passport.gov.uk. Give thema ring, they are open 24hrs. Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks Emma. Unfortunately you have to get to a passport office and there is just no way DH can get the time off work and do the journey (2.5 hours each way). It's a renewal not a new passport so they are usually back within 2 weeks - it's 2 weeks tomorrow we go away, just going to have to keep fingers crossed :(

    Morning all.

Late start for me today. I've not slept well for the past few nights but last night I had a deep and peaceful sleep - and woke up at 9am. I must have needed it.

I think I'm going to pop a loaf in the machine, then I have a pile of washing up, some washing to do, some washing to put away, and some OU study work. Then I might have a nice, long soak in the bath.

Spiddy: You really are cutting it fine with that passport. I know it's hard to get time off work, but the postal way, even using the post office fast track service, is a 2 week service. I just had to renew a lost passport and I had to make sure I sent everything - everything - they could possibly ask for with the application, and then it took 2.5 weeks. You can risk sending it off via the post office and then ring them up in 7 days to check progress. But, if you could get the time off work, it really would be safer and more reliable to get it done while you wait. Good luck anyway.
