OS Daily10/05/2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 10/05/2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

graphic-238.gif Everyone, I hope I am the only early bird today. I fell asleep at 8.30 after the 3 went down as I am still very tired and woke up again at 2am. Just poured a large malt and thought I would post before trying to nod off for a few more hours.

Firstly apologies to all who have been worrying about my absence - my pc decided to die a long and protracted death, thankfully we know a man who can ;) :T :T :T - allthough the can has taken a week but I am now able to grasp my virtual life again :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have been looking in every now and again wih a friend's pc but was unwilling to post. I know this is a public forum and here I am up front with my life but if she chased my history on her pc - my life isn't private any more IYSWIM???

Anyway - AMIE, I lost another pound last week, work have been brill again over OH's last spell in CCU and have given me the next 12 months to work off the 9 days I was off and given me full pay for last month.

LO is finally better, allthough it was very tiring through the thick of it. The appointment for OH's anigo has come through for next Tuesday and work have arranged some time off for me.

OS wise - The house needs it's usual top to toe with the hoover, a 'swish and swipe' in the kitchen and bathroom, the projects I have in the lounge, mainly re-hanging my crystals and sorting out the picture frames will be done as well as a huge pile of ironing and a rack of phonecalls again. One of these willl be to the vicar at the spiritualist church as our 'ghosts' appear to be back again, aww, you have no idea!!!  (sory to all you unbelievers). This time I hope will be the last time they have come here.

Dinner will be a salad with baked pots and some beans and tea will be left over curry with rice and chips (for the others) and garlic nam bread (again for the others) me - an omlette with salad. :D

48cnf2s.gifBig hugs to all of you who need one, and I hope you all have a good day.

See you later,

Smoky. xxx

  • Morning Smoky and Amie, good to see you back, Smoky, hope things are looking up for you a bit.

It's bright here this morning but I think it will rain again later, the garden will be grateful but it's disappointing after all the fabulous weather, isn't it? I have a weekend planned with old school friends and my sisters in London so I'm hoping that it won't be too wet for us.

Not much going on in the Flittersnoop household today, I have college at 9 and then plan to make a cake and some bread to take with me tomorrow. Neither of my sisters nor my friends are particularly OS so homemade goodies will hopefully be a treat for them.

Right, I need a caffeine fix so will go and give the kettle a shake.
    Have a good day everyone

SMOKY! - we've been worried about you! So glad it was a poorly PC and not you! Well done on losing a pound and it's good that things are a bit more positive for you re OH and LO. Hope your ghosts can finally be laid to rest!  Let us know how you get on. Have a great day and keep posting - it hasn't been the same without you!:A :A

AMIE - I'm so sorry your mum is still unwell - that's nearly a week, isn't it? (((hugs))) to her. :A :A As far as the pool is concerned, I think you're meant to have it! I certainly hope we haven't had our summer already!
Well - good morning to alll who follow and those who post while I'm posting!
Reasonable night's sleep last night although the rain woke me up as it pounded on the windows. Will be collecting DGD4yo up from pre-school at 11.30 and bringing her back for lunch so hope the rain holds off because she loves looking at the tadpoles in the pond. If it does rain, we have Plasticine to play with. I bought some last week - in lovely neon colours - and neither DGD nor DGS7yo had seen it before and they really enjoyed playing with it. It's a lot cheaper than Play Doh (sp). It does look a little brighter out there now compared to the gloom and damp of yesterday. And it was SO windy last night, wasn't it? I think I'll have another cuppa and go for a wander in the garden to make sure nothing blew away in the night! Dinner will be something concocted out of sausagemeat and bacon misshapes with the rest of the salad and some potatoes and pudding will be the Raspberry Sponge SC recipe I found yesterday. Have some ironing and some more paperwork to do today and some items finishing on eBay so - no peace for the wicked!  Will drop in later! Hope everyone has a good day!
I wonder if Martin has a post-birthday hangover?!

Morning all - I fell asleep at 8.00 last night so of course have been awake since 2.00. No doubt I'll pay for it with a mid-afternoon slump. I debated making cakes but lost a few hours surfing the Net researching frugal recipes instead. Will go into work early and plough through some of the backlog.

Breakfast at 4.00 was crumpets, butter and jam. May have some porridge in work as I'm still peckish; don't think I can last till lunchtime.

Lunch: meeting an old friend so Starbucks coffee and a snack.

Dinner: either sweet potato and chickpea curry, or veggie pasta bake.

Tonight I'll tackle the laundry pile (DH is out) and get it sorted before the weekend as I'm working on Saturday. Had a major clearout of cupboards and surfaces on Monday and it's still looking reasonable.

    Good morning everyone,

Glad your computer is back up and running smokey and that you are all ok.

JD - yes, i know exactly how you feel in the evenings, i work with small children everyday, so by the evenings and my 2 are in bed, i often feel like im going to go a bit stir crazy - one of the reasons im always on MSE in the evenings tho!!!

((HUGS)) to anyone who wants/needs one xxx

Well, LO at nursery this morning, but the school are holding communion this morning, and DS wants me to go - i dont really want to, as its not often i only have 1 LO, and have a morning off. Will see how much he wants me to go once he wakes up.
No major plans today, although i am attempting csarinas lamb (studded with garlic and marinated in red wine) for dinner tonight - its smells lovely at the mo and its not even cooked yet!!! Hopefully the children will like it, if not, more for me!!!

Well, my life is a bit boring at the mo, so thats it from me.
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Good morning everyone.

Smokey - good to see you back.

Amie - hope your mum's better soon.

Well, DD survived her maths SATs (she has one more small maths test today) and she's now onto English - which she really likes, and they're all over by tomorrow, so we'll be off out celebrating.

I've been awake for a couple of hours, and getting some tidying and paperwork done quietly before the Small Penguins are up. I was then sitting in bed and heard rustling above me. DD's heard it too - think we have *visitors* in our loft space     That'll be another job for DH when he gets back from the States.

Off into York today. I have a mirror on order for my bathroom, and a lot of plants to collect from Freecycle :T :T

The weather here is glorious, but it's forecast not to last, so I daren't put my washing on the line as it'll probably be wetter once I get back.

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Morning All

Yesterday turned out very good in the end. Had long chat with bf and we're fine. Seems someone's been spreading viscious rumours. So I'm happy there again. I knew I was right. Mum is now back on side after working out who the rumour monger is. He was heartbroken when he found out what's been said whilst we were away

Also I've been offered a second job. I don't think it'll be regular, but it pays big bucks for a few hours. When things are certain, I'll reveal all, as hopefully I'll be making history when I do it! It's nothing dodgey, just realised how wrongly I've described it:rotfl: It's to do with sport, but that's all I'll say for now!

Meeting with the new boss didn't happen yesterday, so that's now taking place later on - joys!!!!

In the process of looking for as many free things to do with my summer to make it fly by, so bf comes home from his overseas job quicker! I'm really going to miss him, but this is a fantastic opportunity for him

Already eaten one sarnie that I brought in from home - not the world's healthiest breakfast! Dinner tonight is lamb steak - providing I'm in and not out somewhere.

    Hope everyone's ok

    Morning all

Amie, hope your Mum feels better soon

Scuzz, glad things are better between you and bf, all you needed to do was sit down and have a good talk

Dry today, so off to the allotment to see if all the rain has washed away my little parsnips, I'm sure the weeds will be thriving :D

Not a very healty tea tonight, oven chips, sausage and beans, but at least we're not having fried chips ;)

Hope everyone has a good day, and :grouphug: to anyone needing one x

    Morning guys!
Thats great news ref B/friend Scuzz, and sending big hugs to Kyle, you know what they say, you always take things out on the ones you love the most, im guilty of it to, if i drop something and the kids are in the kitchen i always blame them saying they were under my feet, even when they arent.

Anyway it has rained all night here, but we now have bright blue skys, hope it lasts.
Plans for today do the ironing whilst dd at nursery, she stays untill 12 on thursdays as she has her dinner one day a week preparing her for full time in September.
Want to wipe down the walls in the hallway and landing lots of grubby little fingerprints everywhere, hoover the bedrooms and change the bedding.
And also scrub the kitchen floor.
    Tea tonight is shep pie/veg/yorkshires.
Have a lovely OS day everyone
