Just look at the pictures of the two families - how one family is smiling and the other family scowling .......do the pictures tell us anything?

I am not anti big familys at all this is just a generalistion that
I have seen on the television lately.
Families surving soley on benefits in general live in quite un kept houses, there children seem mucky and there houses in bad condition eg decoration, garden areas.
Where as families that own there own houses or work seem to teach there children to respect the things that they have and manage to keep everything in a reasonable order.
Am not knocking families on benefits as I was on income support for nearly 6 months and to be honest at the end of that time I was starting to lose intrest in most things
.
Also I am the youngest of 7 both my parents worked full time they taught us the value of things not just the cost.

I guess they both receive benefits and are both overpopulating the country.0

Yes, it tell us that back in February the Daily Fail wanted a story and pictures to go with it portraying a mother of 11 as a money grabbing, sour faced, scrounger with children living a miserable life.
And in March they wanted a story and pictures to go with it to portray a mother of 11 as a supermum living a perfect life with happy, content children.
I can't think what else those pictures tell us TBH.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
so parents who receive benefits and/or tax credits never teach their children the value of things that they have? wouldn't it make sense that they do this given that if they have less money than the average person they find it harder to replace items?
I would personally say all those middle-class spoilt brats who's working, guilty parents buy them the latest of everything to somehow make up for their lack of attention are as much of a 'problem' to society, just in a different way?0 -
I didn't say that did I? It was just an observation that I had seen recently on the tv.
Also cleaning is super cheap what the hell is on that childs radiator in the family with the mother with red hair?0 -

But these families seem to be rare. I know a few with 5,6,7 & 8 children even, but I can count these on one hand and all the families have a parent who works full time. they might receive help from the government, but they all have their own houses. I certainly don't think that people have that many children for the freebies - one of those large families had 2 wanted a third and ended up with triplets, another is strictly Catholic and 1 had 7 boys until she had a girl and I think one is addicted to having babies. The fact is after a certain number of babies, childbirth can become more dangerous anyway.
Really most families around me seem to have 2 children. Besides which opting not to have children or not being able to seems far more common than the other way round too.
Families of this number are still more unusual than they used to be. Before contraception it was far more common to see these numbers. You used to hear "I was one of 12 or 13" a lot more often many years ago from people in the 70's or 80's - I know I did.
Also accounting the fact the the average used to be 2.4 children but now it is 1.9 children per family, so although these people get slated, we are having less. We cannot expect all families in the whole of the uk to stick to just 1 or 2 children, although 2 was enough for me!MSE Forum's favourite nutter :T0 -

They tell us the DM's a shite, manipulative 'newspaper' and you've just fallen for it."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Well actually, I was meaning the background of the pictures .....the books in the background of 1 family, the absence of books in t'other!
(Admit it, none of you noticed that did you??????) ;-)0 -

No I didn't notice it, but then I wasn't looking for ways in which I could pass judgement.
If I was, the incredibly corny 'Family' thing on the wall of the first house would be where I'd start.
I keep all my books in my bedroom.0
