My books were in my bedroom - family books in the family room - might lead to a rather messy look, but books should always be accessible imo!

I'm not sure how you can be certain they aren't.

You don't think the DM posed any of those photos accidentally, without careful consideration of the message they convey, do you?

Yep, if the BM didn't stage any photos of books it just has to be because there aren't any.

If they hadn't included that one last picture of the other family there wouldn't have been any books in that story either.

And you can tell how common someone is by whether or not their TV takes up more space than their bookshelves...

If anybody was to take similar photos of my family in the same rooms then there would be no books in evidence either. This is not because we have no books or don't read but because we have a study that is used specifically for studying homework and reading. It is crammed with bookcases, all filled with lots of books of different kinds ranging from first stage board books to more challenging texts. I am certain we are not the only family who have an area set aside for quieter pursuits that require more concentration?

I suppose having a study isn't always possible when you have 11 children!

Yes, it tell us that back in February the Daily Fail wanted a story and pictures to go with it portraying a mother of 11 as a money grabbing, sour faced, scrounger with children living a miserable life.

And in March they wanted a story and pictures to go with it to portray a mother of 11 as a supermum living a perfect life with happy, content children.

I can't think what else those pictures tell us TBH.

It reminds me to buy a mothers day card :D

Maybe not but an area of a room or even under a staircase in the hallway would do the same job. :)

Now that IS a comment worthy of DM!!! Personally, I've always preferred a small TV and loads of books!

We're the same. Although we live in an ex council house, we have a library! Which is actually the small bedroom, we have loads of books, so we have a room dedicated to it - hence the library. We have no books in the living room.

Although admittedly with 11, we wouldn't have a room dedicated to books, but then we wouldn't have them in the living room either.
