  • Oh no at the boiler :( that's not what you need right now. Have they told you previously it needs replacing? I hope it's something simple and fixable for minimum cost. Also hope DH picks up quickly are you allowed to visit him whilst he's on lockdown?

    boo to the boiler
    great news on the BC
This next bit will be tough but worth it x big hugs to you both xx
  • British Gas tried to rip us off, they suggested a ridiculous amount to replace the boiler, but a local guy was much cheaper.

Hope MrSA doesn't suffer too much. Its so awful watching as well so make sure you are looking after yourself too.

    Hi SA,

Great news on BC and pants to boiler. Mine gave up the ghost last year so I feel your pain.

Hope all goes well for Mr SA. and look after you too. All the running around is exhausting.

    Sending you hugs x

Thank you all for your messages - you are a lovely bunch!

Mr SA doing ok - now on Day 1 - but you can see him going downhill already. He's very tired but still eating and no sickness yet. I've been told Day 6 is the worst. Up to now he is still allowed visitors and we don't have to gown up or anything. Tomorrow I am meeting up with friend who has gone through the same treatment and come out the other side. Don't you think it's scary that Mr SA and my friend have both had stem cell transplant in the last 2 years? Is blood cancer getting more common?

British Gas coming to look at boiler on Saturday. I think it might be the switch for the pump as the light isn't on. Pilot light on boiler is on and pump was replaced last year.

Nice thing happened at work . I was given a £20 Love to Shop voucher as a thank you - one of my team nominated me. Doing well as I got one earlier this year too. If someone does that bit extra they get nominated.

Now the weather is getting colder a few gaps in my autumn/winter wardrobe have come to light. Need to wait until payday before I can even start to think about this though. I am one of those people who have loads of clothes but nothing to wear! Have always wanted one of those capsule wardrobes but mine is a load of random things bought in the sales!
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I'm not surprised that you were nominated, but I'm pleased you got some vouchers. Make sure you treat yourself.

Glad to hear Mr SA is coping. Hugs to you both Xx

Sounding good for Mr SA. My next door neighbour had something similar I think. He mentioned stem cells when he was explaining his treatment.

Great result on the voucher. Such a boost to know how appreciated you are. :D
