Hello everyone
Congratulations to you DFW on becoming debt free!! How fab is that!!!
Carpet now fitted and looking great - very pleased. Also steam mop arrived this morning but not tested yet. Will use it this weekend.
Mr SA now on Day minus 5 - more chemo today. He said last night was awful and every time he sneezed he was sick. Last day of chemo tomorrow. He is so fed up and worried that this treatment won't work. Tried to reassure him.
Weather lovely and hot here today but apparently this was last day of summer and autumn starts tomorrow
Spent ages sorting out finances today. Tesco credit card bill was the highest it has been for ages but then it had fridge freezer, carpet and several meals out on it. Anyway it's now been cleared. Paid £20 off Barclaycard so now owe £160. Also sent £9.26 to VSP so this now totals £248.47. Had to smile when I got a letter from Halifax about me only paying minimum on credit card blah blah. It's 0% until 2015!! However will be on the case of this one very soon!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Forgot to add SIL thinks garden quote is too high and I should try someone else. But we are talking £100 per bloke per day plus skip. Mr S thinks this is about right and so does BIL.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

is the skip hire in this price or to be added?
do you know of the level of work they can achieve you mentioned earlier post trees to be felled, on the whole I think I would stay with this quote as you have day booked. You could do without all the hassle of ringing around will they wont they turn up and quote.
I favour with these gardeners..
wishing you a healthy weekend love to you all xx0 -
Hello all
I went on "is this quote fair" thread and everyone said it was fair. Skip is included in price.
Mr SA still doing ok albeit very down. He has been on anti-depressants for a few weeks now but personally I can't see any difference. But then he has a very good reason to feel down and all the anti depressants in the world won't change that. The chemo has finished and he should get his stem cells back on Tuesday.
I'm back at work tomorrow after my 2 weeks off,. Back to leaving the house at 7am and not getting back until 7pm! At least it should only be until the end of September.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
I'd say if the skip hire is included its a good price. I know how much a skip cost us when we were clearing my Mum's house.
Sorry not been commenting on your thread, been on holiday and just catching up.x x x0 -
can't blame him being down as he's had so much to get through..good luck on thursday xxx0

Agree with taxi, horrendous time you are both going through . Bet you notice a difference when you go to work now, colder and maybe abit darker than two weeks ago.
Make sure you look after yourself, you don't want to be coming down with a cold or flu the next couple of weeks. I always seem to get a sore throat when the weather turns colder.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
Hiya Lovely,
yep, can't blame him or you for being down. toughest times me thinks.
shame you are going back to work, although maybe it might be like a break in a funny sort of way?
Re garden, I think it is VERY good. My guy charges more than that, although he did remove bushes completely and put in the pond. and took everything away.
any how big hugs for the 7 am leaving of the house - that is the time I leave too!
Big hugs for anything else you might think ofXXXXX
Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
Thank you SA
Mr sa certainly does have a very good reason to feel depressed I wonder if once the chemo has finished and he's feeling better in himself if he might pick up naturally ...I hope so! Garden quote sounded fair to me too and a good company to hire I hope the garden is looking healthy soon ..this reminds me I need to do mine too soon! Hi all
Thanks for your nice comment and hope you had a lovely holiday Dumyat.
Mr SA had his stem cells put back in today. They say now he'll go downhill for a few days, feel rough, sickness and diarrhoea. He's not allowed to come out of his room now. They've been letting him go out for the past few days to get himself a coffee and bacon roll from the shop but he's confined to barracks as from now until his immune system has re-built itself.
Some good news on the finance front - I have finally paid off my Barclaycard as DD paid her board money. So now I have to tackle the larger one - the Halifax card. Although every silver lining has a cloud in my case and this morning I attempted to begrudgingly switch on the central heating as it's got so cold so suddenly to find it doesn't work.
Fortunately we have British Gas service cover.
Unfortunately when they come out they'll bring up the old chestnut again of "your boiler needs replacing".
