Thank you all - and Andrea lovely to see you up and running again - hope everything is going well for you
Having him home was unbelievable - never thought I would ever see him like this again. Not out of the woods yet but getting there bit by bit. The wonders of medicine eh? Plus some very good doctors. No wonder there is a waiting list for the unit he was/will be in. His consultant has special interest in PCNS Lymphoma thank goodness and has written article about it.
Painted skirting board in hall in anticipation of new carpet. Wish I could've got it all redecorated in time but can't do everything and I've never decorated on my own anyway. Am better at painting my nails than walls!!!! Dog ripped wallpaper in odd places when she was a pup but not that bad so will have to live with it until Mr SA is feeling up to decorating again. Our garden is massive and trees/bushes out of control so money will be well spent. We would love to move to smaller place but that's a project for another day.
I will be spending Thursday to Sunday catching up with housework and testing out the steam mop before returning to work on Monday. So exciting time ahead ha ha!
Weather has been beautiful here - still summer - so has been great for Mr SA who lives for summer but has just missed the best one we've had since 2006!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
loving that you managed to spend some lovely time together...you've got a tough few weeks ahead but remember it's all to make him better xx0

Hello all
Another long long day at the hospital. Left the house at 10.30 for his 11am PICC line insertion then on to 12.10 appointment with his consultant which was running late - eventually got to se him at 2.30!! Consultant said there are still a couple of lymphoma cells left in his brain and he's hoping the very high dose chemo over the next 3 days will put him in remission. Mr SA has been a difficult patient to treat because of the aggressive nature of the lymphoma. The chemo starts tonight and today is known as day zero minus 6. 3 days of the very high dose chemo followed by 3 days off then Day Zero when he gets his frozen stem cells back via drip. The worst point will be around day 6 when his immune system will be at its lowest. By day14 he should be recovered. He will have to have all his childhood vaccinations again as these will be wiped out. Finally he got admitted to the stem cell ward at 5pm. He has a very isolated room - everyone has their own room - but a very nice room with lovely view. If this treatment doesn't put him in remission then radiotherapy is next option but consultant is hoping it won't be necessary.
So I finally got back home at 6.30. Oh and believe it or not dog got stung by a bee just as we were about to leave this morning! Poor little thing was whimpering and shaking. Thankfully DD removed sting with tweezers and dog is now back to normal.
It was so hot here today so miffed we spent most of the day trapped inside. Tomorrow waiting in for carpet fitters and steam mop delivery so will finally get around to sorting finances (eek!!!).I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
