Oh Hun I'm so sorry to read all of this. I've followed you over from the Extra Payment Every Week Challenge and, although slightly different in that my DH had a severe brain injury resulting from a motorbike accident, I can sympathise with what you are going through with Intensive Care and seizures etc.
We are nearly 2 years down the line now and it's a very long road. Weirdly, my DH was also a roofer and whilst he still isn't fit for work anyway, he won't be able to return to that even if he does get back to work. There will be lots of ups and downs, please feel free to contact me if you think I can help at all.
Look after yourself. You are important too XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hi everyone and thanks for your support
Plmbl - I have been following yor diary since before this happened so a shock to me to suddenly find myself in a similar-ish situation to you. Must be something about roofers!
Went to see OH tonight and unfortunately he is back under sedation as he has a bad chest infection. They tried to take breathing tube out but he was struggling for breath so they x-rayed him and found chest infection. They think it's best he's sedated while they treat him. Tomorrow they will try to wake him up again as antibiotics should have kicked in. They need him to be fit and healthy so he can start chemo.
We have a tough road ahead.
Before this setback this morning I has my MSE head on and sorted out finances. I have paid another £50 off Barclaycard so this is now down to £1610. I will try to keep chipping away at it as I would like to clear it by August if I can. But this will depend on money situation and how I feel on that particular day.
I would just like to see OH sitting up and hear his voice again at the moment - oh how your priorities change at a time like this!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Feel a bit of a saddo sitting here on a Friday night posting on here but I'm sat on my own (although DD is upstairs in bed) and feeling rather sorry for myself. Dreading it in case my mobile rings and it's the hospital but sensible part of me says he is sedated so is ok at least for tonight. I have got this horrible ringtone on my mobile - it's just one that's in built into the phone - don't know what it is but I hate it and as soon as all this is over I will change it. I think the sound of it will haunt me forever.
Sorry for downbeat post - I don't want to depress you all but I'm finding it very therapeutic to keep putting my thoughts down. Am trying to watch trashy TV but can't relax. If anyone's reading this please say hello.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
Hello, I'm also a saddo spending my Friday night online
. We can have a virtual girlie evening with wine and a pamper pack. You probably need one!
Does your phone not have another ringtone built in? If you have a look in settings you can maybe change it. It's funny what we associate with bad news. When the police phoned to tell me about DH's accident I was in Asda. It took me about a year not to think of that dreadful moment every time I went shopping!
It's not depressing to read your diary, it's nice to know we can help XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hi P
I don't want to change ringtone until things start to improve. I know this sounds weird but mmm....
As this is OH's old phone (can see why he passed it on to me as it's c&@!p) it had his old ringtone on it (born slippy) so I changed it temporarily until I got around to putting one of my faves on it. Doesn't matter what ringtones on it I will always associate it with this time so would rather it not be one of my favourites.

Ah I've always been an old head on young shoulders so I'd settle for a try at being foolish!!!! XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hi sun addict,
I remember your previous debt-free diary and recognised your user name as soon as I saw it.
I'm so sorry to hear you're all having a terrible time of it at the moment. Sending you hugs and hoping DH is well enough fir treatment soon.
As someone else has already said, please make sure you also loo after yourself. I've have, unfortunately, frequently been in similar positions as yourself with a loved one seriously ill in hospital and it is exhausting. You're no good to DH worn out either, so don't be afraid to give yourself a break now and than however you see fit.
I do hope things start improving for you really soon.
Best wishes

Thank you PLMBL and dfs
Didn't have a very good night's sleep last night - kept the TV on all night - I couldn't bear the silence. Never thought I'd miss OH's snoring!!!
Dog slept in bed all night so some comfort. We've not even had her for a year yet and can't imagine life without her now. One of the cats brought a mouse in again last night. She's a pain at doing this. Dog caught it and killed it. There was blood dotted about everywhere. Could have done without this!!! At least mouse not running around house.
Will get myself up and running soon. Have a few things to do before I go to visit OH. Lovely and sunny at the moment but they are talking about rain later. This morning I need to take dog on park, do a bit of cleaning and nip to local shops for a few bits.
Will be going to hospital at tea time-ish with his sister. Her DH will be able to give me a lift home. Hoping things look a bit more encouraging today. I've been told to expect one day up one day down but it's still a worry. It's such a shame he has had this setback as he could be starting the chemo now.
DD has decided for sure to have termination and has gone to clinic this morning with a friend.
They say things come in threes - just a couple of months ago DS's GF walked out on him leaving him with house and 2 cats. He very nearly had to come back home but has since moved in with a friend. Then OH getting ill followed by DD's troubles. And it's only April!
When I started this diary I thought it would just be a mundane journey through paying off debt. Boy oh boy was I wrong!! Glad I started it though as posting is helping me cope.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Thinking of you and your DD today. It's true it never rains but it pours! XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
