Thank you all and special thanks to you robin. It's a lovely offer but I'm happy to buy it for Mr SA if it works. :A Will pay a visit to Holland & Barratt on the way to the hospital.
Friday is the day I sort out my finances and I've put £1.11 in my VSP which now has £220.15 in it, paid off the balance of my spending card and made an extra payment of £6 to my Barclaycard, so I now owe £740.
Keep your fingers crossed for Mr SA this afternoon!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Everything crossed! Not sure how I will function with fingers, toes, legs and eyes crossed, but anything to help

Ok, but feel free to change your mind, once you've picked yourself up off the floor after looking at the price tag in H&B.
Every so often A!di have Manuka Honey as a 'special' which is a lot cheaper and very good - worth making a trip to stock up when available, but watch out for the scrum!Sun_Addict wrote: »Keep your fingers crossed for Mr SA this afternoon!

Thanks all
Mr SA has now had a successful MRI scan - apparently they got some good pictures. They allowed me to go into scanning room after signing my life away and I stroked his leg while he laid very still. He was very tired afterwards and fell asleep not long after - he had been sedated so no surprise. Just got to wait for the results now. Everything crossed again!
Robin. - manuka honey in H&B £7.49 for small jar which I thought maybe not too bad? Ran the idea by Mr SA prior to investment and he said "I don't like honey". Told him it would do him good and he said he would try a spoonful first - so small jar might be a good idea unless it also comes in tablet form.
Had a reply from the nPower forum chap and I have been offered £43 plus an additional £50 compensation so have accepted this offer. I really hope this is the end of it now. Could do without chasing things up at the moment.
Meant to be going to a 60th birthday party tomorrow night. As things stand right now I'm still going, albeit on my own. To be honest if Mr SA was well I doubt we'd be going as he isn't a party person especially when he doesn't know the person having the party. The lady involved is an ex work friend who he's never met. Think it will do me good to get out and once I get there I won't be on my own as loads of people from work going.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
All sounding good SA.

So glad to here the news is looking better, hope the MRI brings more comforting news for you both.
Manuka Honey is a lot tastier than many medicines and can do no harm and only good so make sure he takes a spoon.
I hope we hear more positive news over the coming days. You're amazing keeping it together and keeping on the debt busting through this, I'm in total awe of you. xx£10781.62 by 23/04/2014 :rudolf:

What Elphaba said
You are amazing. It is true, you do find yourself "doing" to feel in control, I still revert to that if stuff goes wrong. It is a good way to manage things.
take care darling and I hope you enjoy the party or it distracts you enough to relieve the pressure

Good morning all
Up early as Mr SA rang me at 6am asking me what time I'd be at hospital. He is always more confused first thing.
Might need to run the manuka honey idea by Mr SA's doctor as according to Web MD it can react with certain chemo drugs. Daren't risk it without checking first - it would be just my luck to make things worse.
Don't know if we'll hear of any results today. It's 2 weeks since the Grim Reaper doctor told us bad news. If I see him hovering around again I'll get worried. Dreading it.
Got tons to do today - the usual Saturday cleaning, bit of food shopping and dog walking. Would like to spend some time in the sunshine too. Better get my skates on!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
