Thanks all! I'm just glad to report some positive news for once.

I've had a few phone calls from Mr SA today and he has had a fall and hurt his arm. Now he's feeling better he wants to be on the move again but his brain forgets his legs don't work like they used to. His left hand is very weak too.

Have had to complain to nPower yet again as my £43 is still not back in my account and the 3-5 working days has passed. The operative told me the refund had been issued as a cheque which will take 7-10 days to arrive. Told him how cheesed off I was but didn't really get much joy so have fired off an e-mail to the place that dealt with my complaint in May. All I want is my money back and for them to stop taking random amounts of money from my bank account I can't afford to pay out. GRR!!!

    Hello Sun.A, :hello:

Your good news has really cheered me up! Err, no not the bit about MrSA hurting his arm, but that he's obviously starting to feel a lot better and that the scan has confirmed improvement. :D

..Time to start hassling the OT for a stair-lift and other aids at your house, methinks. As you know, you may not get much notice when the docs decide MrSA can return home, so given what happened before, you are justified in making a fuss in order to avoid future risk. Because all the support staff are desperately over-worked, you are going to have to chase this, otherwise MrSA's file could easily languish on someone's desk for far too long - while those who are chasing get dealt with. Be the squeaky wheel for MrSA. ;)

Re nPower; why not send a pm to their Rep who posts on MSE - see if he can get it sorted out properly for you?

    Thank you everyone

Mr SA was tons better tonight than he has been for ages and his voice is coming back BUT he needs another MRI scan as he stopped the last one because it was uncomfortable for him. They didn't get enough information so it needs to be re-done. The dr said clinically he thinks Mr SA has improved but they need the scan to back this up. Apparently they thought there was enough information on the last scan to back this up but not so. So back to being on tenterhooks again. I will be accompanying him for the next scan tomorrow as dr thinks a familiar face will calm him down plus they will give him a sedative. Can't believe I've got to go through all this stress again! On top of this he has developed bug in his gut resistant to a certain type of antibiotic. Not a problem at the moment but if he gets infection they will know not to use that type of antibiotic. Nurses and doctors have to wear apron to look at him now. One thing after another!!!

Re nPower - e-mailed the forum chap this afternoon. However, got home tonight to find a cheque for £43. Still bad customer service though. Beanie - I was with Scottish Power before nPower and never had a problem with them. Prior to that was with Atlantic and they were great - wish I never left them. All I'm trying to do is save myself some money like everyone else.

So keep your fingers crossed for Mr SA tomorrow afternoon. Here we go again!!!!!

Good Luck with today's attempt at scanning MrSA - great idea you being there (keep your eyes open and don't be afraid to speak up if the techs are heavy-handed!).

..This is where natural remedies can make a huge difference. Buy some Manuka Honey*, and persuade MrSA to take a teaspoonful several times a day to eradicate the bug.
    Sound stupid? Try it.
(If nothing else honey has great food value. As you're finding out, the risk of picking up an anti.b-resistant bug is one of the greatest dangers of a hospital stay - time to get MrSA home again!).

    * It is the most expensive type of honey, but for good reason. I am so convinced of the efficacy of this stuff that I'd be happy to buy a pot for MrSA - send a pm with your Paypa! addy if you'd like me to refund you the cost..

  • So glad things are looking up :) I hope the scan goes well today for Mr SA xx
