I've seen an advert for Homebase, looks like they're delivering them again. Unfortunately all the garden centres in our area are too far to walk to, not on a bus route and we don't have transport. I think the local green grocers might deliver so that's an option.

Lost another 1lb at WW :) The plan has changed again and we get less points but more zero point foods. Our group actually trialled the new plan earlier this year but we had to sign a confidentiality form binding us not to talk about it to anyone.

This afternoon we've put the stair rails back up - these are the extra ones put in for Mr SA. I'm glad they're back up as it's been a bit hair raising watching him use the stairs without them! Then Mr SA and DD were putting up her curtain pole and tv bracket so I took the dog on the park to get out of the way. Mr SA is pleased with himself for being useful but is wiped out now and has gone to bed.

I've just made a banana and walnut cake from a WW recipe. I don't usually bake so it could be interesting. This is what I wanted the maple syrup for last week.

It's been really gloomy most of the day here, real November weather.

Hope everyone is having a fab Saturday :)

  • Yay to the lb loss this week SA. I think I've seen about this new plan on my insta this week.

Glad MrSA is feeling useful, hope he's not wiped out for too long xx

  • You must be relieved that the stair rails are back up. Though good to hear that Mr SA has felt more positive through keeping himself busy.

I’m interested to find out what you think of the new WW plan? And how did your cake turn out?

SSG the new plan seems great so far and means I no longer have to point my pulses and quorn. Salmon is also zero now, it used to be quite high. I've bought quite a few of the cookery books this year and they were giving out lists of the new points. I'm going to make some carrot and lentil soup today and butternut squash falafels which are now zero points.

That's me living on zero point food and using my points on wine :rotfl:

The cake I wasn't too sure about, it just said whole meal flour didn't stipulate self raising, so it didn't really rise and is more like a brick than a cake. Although to be fair it's called banana loaf rather than cake. It tastes nice though and Mr SA likes it. DD had a piece but I noticed some of it in the dog's dish this morning! The dog didn't eat it.

I don't think I'll be entering Bake Off any time soon :rotfl:

Right now I am battling with myself. I'm torn between suggesting to Mr SA that we go in town, get him the few bits of clothes he needs from Primani, have a look at the Christmas market, then have lunch in a pub - OR staying home, getting the chores done, do some cooking, put my feet up at some point and have a no spend day.

The sensible part of me says do the latter, especially after doing my finances yesterday and realising I overspent by over £200 in the last 4 weeks  This means I won't be able to save anything yet again this month

Fortunately the monies start coming in again from tomorrow and I'm going to draw a line under it and start again with fresh budgets.

Have decided against town. I've got too much to do at home and realistically I should've done the chores yesterday to free up today.

Got a fair bit done today but not everything I wanted to. Made some carrot, spinach, chilli and coriander soup - chilli and coriander picked from pots in the garden. Also made some butternut squash falafels.

Pleased that today ended up as NSD 5/12 :)

However, only putting off the inevitable and Mr SA really does need a couple of sweatshirts and some new joggers. Plus I need a visit to Savers to stock up on loo rolls and other bits.

Mr SA was hammering the floorboards in the hall. When DD came home from work she said she could smell gas. I must admit I could smell it too when I came out of the bath. It's only faint, really don't want to get gas people out on a Sunday night. Should I leave it until tomorrow? I'll kill him if he's hammered through a gas pipe.

Why is there always something going wrong?

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Can't smell anything at the moment. I'll keep checking and if in doubt I'll call them out (sounds like an advert!). I'm going to be paranoid about it all night.
