SA I think you are doing a brilliant job, please be a little more gentle on yourself
I take my hat off to you. Debt busting as well as coping with everything that has been thrown at you? That's some achievement. I haven't had anything near as bad to dampen my days and yet I still occasionally cave to the wine mid-week so if you fancy it then go for it. Doggy cuddles, walks & wine (and chocolate if you're so inclined) are the way forward to keep sanity I think.

Not been on the boards for a couple of weeks as I've been having a yacky time, but after catching up on your posts its made me realise that it wasn't that bad after all.
Big hugs as I know how hard it is when you have someone in hospital who relies on you. At xmas my dad was seriously ill in hospital and basically my xmas was non exsistent as all I did was go back and to, to the hospital, was so jealous of everybody having a good time and enjoying themselves.
Well done on the payments you have been making on your Barclaycard. I am finishing off my loan this month so only have my CC left which I aim to pay off within 18 monthes.

Thank you all for your lovely messages :A You can't believe how much you're all helping me get through this!
Buffy - kids are ok, DD works 12-9 so don't see much of her (this is actually a good thing!) and DS has been keeping a low profile, kept saying he'd come round but hasn't been. I think he knows I want him to cut the grass! And I'm not chasing after him! Re time off work - although I work for very large government department I am on a contract (been here 13 years) and contractor keeps changing. Colleagues have all sorts of special leave/care leave, etc but as a contractor I don't have these privileges. They have tried to get me off contract and employ me directly but powers that be won't allow it in the current economic climate. I can't afford to take unpaid leave so I either have to use my own leave or (as a lot of colleagues have hinted to me) "throw a sickie" but don't really want this on my work record unless absolutely necessary.
Mr SA was fine again last night. The catheter is now off so he is getting mobile again. He should have started his stem cell harvest this morning so I'll see how that went tonight.
Put 9 things on eBay yesterday - used the iPad app but it still took ages. Don't really have a lot of success with eBay - tend to buy more than I sell! Also sorted out some stuff for charity bag that came through the door but forgot to put it out this morning and today is collection day!
Lucky - you know exactly how things are with all you've been through and how frustrating it can be at times when someone has a brain injury/illness.
DFW321 - carrying on "business as usual" is keeping me going. The debt busting is an aversion therapy if you like. I can't keep dwelling on Mr SA's illness or it would drive me mad.
Thanks once again everyone! Much appreciated!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
you are coping really well with all this ..it must be so exhausting0

Hello Sun.A, :hello:
Glad to read MrSA is getting some 'up' days - keeping digits crossed those continue and he produces a good harvest.
You have my admiration re debt-busting efforts; wish I was doing as well as you! :T0 -
Hello all!
Taxi - yes I am exhausted. Difficult to keep going some days.
Robin - his harvest was 4.8m stem cells. The consultant wanted 5m so he might be having a few more squeezed out of him today unless 4.8m will suffice.
And now for the good news - Mr SA is coming home tonight!! The doctor says he's well enough to come home for at least a week before the transplant. He is so happy! I'm taking tomorrow off work to be with him and get him settled back in and then Thursday and Friday I'll be back at work. He won't be on his own totally as DD is off work those two days and DS is working nearby so will pop home at lunchtime to make sure he's ok. Bit of a shock him coming out so soon - reckon they need the bed! Was expecting it to be this weekend. Feel a bit scared again - it's going to be hard work. Just wish things would hurry up and get back to normal.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
