Thanks all
Mr SA has had some chemo with the rest to follow tomorrow. The chemo specific to Lymphoma is the one he has tomorrow. He is also to have his stem cells harvested the week after next. Then he'll be blasted with chemo before they're put back. Unfortunately tonight he had a temperature again and he feels rough. He seems to think he won't get better. Had to convince him he will.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
treatment is so hard and not much fun so can understand him not thinking he'll get better..the treatment feels worse than the disease but he's nearly at the next stage already..big well done to him x0

I knew it would happen eventually - Mr SA was poorly tonight. His high dose chemo has left him being sick and sleeping all the time. He barely acknowledged I was there tonight. Hopefully he will be feeling more himself tomorrow as the nurse said there was only 1% of the chemo drug left in his system and that is good. Weird how they flood you with chemo and then flush it back out again. They give you the chemo and then give you an antidote.
Today I walked my little dog to local post depot to pick up parcel - took us an hour and 15 minutes then cleaned the whole house. How weird is the weather at the moment - warm and sunny one minute then windy and cool the next!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Sorry Mr SA isn't well. Big hugs for you as it's so hard to be the positive strong one when you feel helpless Xx
Agreed re the weather, sick of dashing out to bring the washing in because it's suddenly raining when 20 mins earlier it had been glorious!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

You know what Sun addict, you are so impressive.
Mr SA is lucky to have you. hug the dog and drink some wine, then bed and hopefully a lovely sleep to help you hang on to the positives. It was found, Mr SA is being treated, he is in the best place. At least if he is sleepy etc he isn't in pain and most importantly of all life will not be like this for ever.
Love you lots
xxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
they sometimes give antihistamines with the chemo to counter act the allergies so that could make him sleepy too..it used to knock me out..hope he's feeling better soon x0

(((Hugs)))
You're both doing so well, Sun.A; you in the way you're coping and MrSA because he is responding to his treatment so can move ahead, step by step. Slow, sometimes unpleasant and frustrating, yes - but it's progress - reason to be positive.
Hopefully MrSA has already gone through the worst of his reaction to this dose and will soon perk up. Am wondering whether he will then have the chance to get home for a few days before stem-cell treatment (which will require even more stringent precautions against picking up secondary infections - so he can expect to be in hospital for that)?
Chase up the various aids you've been offered, get them installed so that you'll be ready [STRIKE]if[/STRIKE]* when MrSA's doctor suggests home-leave.
* Think positive!

Wow Sun Addict - just read through your diary from the start and I have to say, you're one tough cookie. To go through what you've been going through and then to still be powering through on your debts!
It's really quite admirable, honestly - you put me to shame!Save0 -
Thank you all :A
Madhatter - it helps to have a distraction from the illness so the tackling debts thing is a refreshing change!
As of last night Mr SA was still knocked for six. I've not heard from him today so assume he is still feeling rough as he usually texts me several times a day. Hoping he is feeling better when I visit tonight.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Fed up !!!!
Mr SA has got very low sodium levels again and is barely conscious. He is just sleeping all the time and barely registered I was there. He hasn't eaten or had a drink since Friday and the catheter is back on. He still has the infection in his Hickman Line but they have grown a culture from a sample and they are now administering the right antibiotic. The doctor said he should start to improve in the next 3-4 days.
Then I get home to an email from someone I work with to tell me what a wonderful holiday she's having. Just what I wanted to hear! I feel like screaming with frustration and have gone back to feeling why me and very envious of anyone who has a normal life.
I have just been to Mr T's and bought a bottle of wine (even though I've been trying not to drink in the week) and am now sitting here with a large glass in front of me and the dog curled up on my knee.
