Just catching up. Sounds like you're well underway with your house plans
and maybe a sneaky summer holiday too ?
Well done on your walking. Sounds promising progress.
Today has been glorious. Truly wonderful. But home tomorrow. Planning to extend 'the holiday feel' with my free hotel stay though :j and I still have the weekend. Some work to do but manageable.
Hoping to do a money shuffle over the weekend too..can't wait :T

Well on your volunteering SA, I'm sure you can make a difference to this person no matter how small.
Happy Fridayxx

The volunteering was cancelled as not enough people attending the drop in session and they didn't need me. Still on the rota for another week though.
Walked to work again today, out for a walk at lunchtime and walked to Lidl then caught the bus back from there - 18,223 steps todayA brand new Lidl store has opened on my route home, love it, not dabbled with Lidl before but can nip in here on my way home from work. Love it
Bought the Hairy Dieters veggie cookbook today, looks fab, loads of things I would make in there.
And the good news is I booked Monday off work so another long weekend - happy daysI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Enjoy the long weekend.
Think you'll find Lidl useful - am impatiently waiting for one to open quite near me. As long as you select the right stuff (e.g. Not wine that tastes of squash!!) you'll be fine

Good morning everyone!
Firstly I was shocked and saddened to hear of yet another terror attack last night. When is it going to stop? Makes you scared to go into city centres but then I guess that is the intent of the terrorists.
Up early this morning as usual so taking advantage of the peace and quiet before Mr SA and the dog get up to sort out finances and plans for June.
Didn't do too well with my goals in May, mainly because I started losing track of where I was. I annoy myself because I set myself targets and start the month tracking everything, then I start forgetting to track and it all goes haywire. So here I am again at the beginning of another month with yet another plan but this time I'm determined to keep track. I've dug out my old tick chart and put it where I can see it. Here goes:
15 days where I do a minimum of 16,000 steps - off to a good start with this already as I've done 3 so farThe other 15 days must be a minimum of 10,000 steps
12 workouts - the aim is to go to Zumba plus the gym at lunchtime twice a week (it closes at the end of this month sadly)
12 alcohol free days - I'm terrible at keeping track of these, the aim is to do 3 a week but I often cave in by Wednesday
8 no spend days - averages at 2 a week, also bad at tracking these
Smash May's savings total - which won't be a hard thing to do as only saved £115.40, although this doesn't include holiday savings. Ideally would like to save £300 a month on top of holiday savings. I've been saving £50 a month by standing order into a regular saver account for 12 months which has now finished so need to set another one up as the interest rate is better than the normal savings accounts.
Stick to grocery and spending budgets - absolutely dreadful at sticking to these, really need to be stricter especially if my mortgage is going to increase
Lose 7lbs - not all this month however  just in total. Am 2.5lbs over my WW goal weight but ideally would like to be a bit under to allow for wiggle room. Goal to lose this month is the 2.5lbs.
Need to do some serious decluttering before the building work starts.
My VSP now holds £330.52 - this is my Christmas savings pot. Holiday pot holds £435 - not sure when we're next going but it will be after the building works have finished unless they get put back then it will be before. Will probably add the £600 from my regular saver to this if need to.
Walked to a further away local park yesterday with the dog and Mr SA on his scooter. Met DS and family there, walked round, took the grandkids on the kiddies part then walked back. Ankle was very sore after all this walking - about 3 hours in total.
Plan to stay in today and have the first NSD of June.
Day off work tomorrow. Will be sorting out the additional mortgage borrowing in the afternoon with the mortgage advisor. Going to make sure I get a good deal before agreeing to anything as I could get a personal loan with my bank for 3.4% APR. At the end of the day the total monthly amount payable needs to be affordable and I know how much I can afford.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend :beer:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
