Happy Spring everyone
That's three friends of mine who have cancer now. The lady with breast cancer is very upbeat and the doctors seem to think it's been caught early so aren't overly concerned. She said they made it sound very routine. So fingers crossed for her.
Took Mr SA into town yesterday for an eye test - his first ever at 50! Thankfully his test and reading glasses were free because he's on ESA although they did try to persuade him to have varifocals ranging between £79 and £179. I made it clear he only wanted them for reading. Can you imagine him falling over and smashing them if he had to wear them all the time. He tested them out yesterday and he's happy now he can read again. Of course while we were out he cadged a denim jacket from Primani plus some slip on shoes and a t-shirt. At least he won't go on about the denim jacket from Lidl now.
Today he's had quite a nasty fall outside and his ankle is swollen. It shook him quite badly and it took him ages to get back up. Good job he wasn't on his own as I had to fetch him some cushions so he could roll over onto them to get up.
I finally finished the hall wallpaper stripping today, just the last tricky bits over the bedroom door which I had to buy a long handled stripping knife to reach. Mr SA is meant to be filling in holes with plaster and sanding the walls down this week ready for us to paint Easter weekend. So it will be a fun packed Easter break for me :rotfl:
Didn't go to WW last Thursday as I left work later than planned and didn't see the point in rushing to get there when I have no doubt stayed the same or even worse gained! I'm just not getting into it this time and when I joined up I bought a 3 month pass determined I would be back at goal by the time it came to renew it on 8 April. It is now 20 March and I've only lost 3lbs. However, I'm not giving up and will carry on and make more of an effort to track everything I eat and stick to my points - it's getting back into the habit of doing it really. We're going on holiday in 13 weeks so will set that as my date for getting to goal.
Hopefully now spring has sprung I will be more motivated about everything: diet/exercise/budgeting/decluttering to name a few things. The weeks just go by so fast and I don't seem to have much spare time. I'm trying to come up with some sort of schedule and spread things out over the week as usually the whole weekend is spent catching up with what I didn't get time to do over the week. I leave the house for work at 6.15 and don't get back until 17.00 most days. Then I have to be in bed by 21.30 in order to get up at 5. What I'm going to try and do is leave work at 15.30 at the latest then I'll be home by 16.30 which will give me an extra 30 minutes a day in the week.
At least it's only a 4 day week this week and next.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Mr SA still suffering, his knee and ankle are swollen now.
I made a to do list, it's the only way I'll get anything done and remember to do it. I like lists and ticking things off, it's how I get things done at work.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Thanks Beanie.
Forgot to say he's got his commode back after one too many accidents. Plus several urinal bottles. Great! Feel like everything is going backwards.
On the plus side today has been a no spend day - although shamefully the first one of March so far.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Waving from Tetbury ( a short pub break)
Well done on the paint stripping....
as Beanie says Boo to the falls and appreciate what having to use toilet aids must be demoralising....
Here to a good week....As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Evening folks
Starting the week motivated so must keep it up and not lose the plot mid-week. Mr SA still in pain but he managed to patch up the plaster on the walls where needed. He is going to try to sand them down ready for painting this weekend. He made a right mess though, bits of plaster everywhere.
Managed to get everything done tonight - cleaned the bathroom, hoovered everywhere and decluttered some paperwork. Took the dog for a walk and have filled in my tracker. Tonight has also been an alcohol free one which Monday tends to be anyway (before I cave in mid week). Bath and bed shortly, hopefully a better night's sleep than last night as was woken up by my cat chasing a mouse she'd brought in. The dog caught it and took it outside thankfully.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Don't read on if you're eating.
Talk about speak too soon. The rest of last night was horrendous. After this post I got into the bath with a cup of herbal tea, a magazine, candle and the radio. Painted my nails and prepared to relax. Tap on the door, Mr SA needed to go to the toilet - now. Got out of the bath to let him in, already too late, he'd messed himself and needed to clean himself up. This is a repeat of what happened last Monday when I was in the bath.
Had a rubbish night's sleep as Mr SA was up and down to the loo several times in the night.
This morning I find the commode in the garden - full. The old cat had pooped in the hall. Mr SA's soiled boxers were in the bin and I almost stepped in some poo by the bin where he must've dropped it.
I have been shattered all day
On a more cheerful note, I've been to Zumba and had no spend day number 2. Plus I had a bath earlier with a glass of wineI'm going to bed very shortly.
It's a wonder I'm not insane or an alcoholic.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
