That would make me think it's either a) anxiety related at being alone b) exertion from having to do everything for himself or c) something he says happens (but doesn't) to make you feel guilty at being out without him.

A thousand apologies if that offends Xx

I was thinking the same thing... The question is how to tackle it to ensure you get your me time, that you need and deserve .....
As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or
What does the saying say.... When life hands you lemons, make lemonade
Or as my Mum would say, brush yourself down, tomorrow is another day or
Fake it, to you Make It

Mr SA is driving me insane at the moment. His latest bee in the bonnet is going back to work - roofing!!!!! Started off by a couple of his old work mates ringing him to see how he was. They told him they are crying out for experienced roofers. I just can't reason with him he is talking about ringing his old firm he worked for. He's been told by his consultant his brain damage is extensive and he'll never regain his balance back enough to be a roofer again. He's not allowed to drive until autumn at the earliest and we no longer have transport anyway. At the gym today an instructor had to get him off the treadmill as he's not allowed on it because of his balance issues. I've got to the point where I dread getting home from work because he starts the pestering and arguing as soon as I walk through the door. It seems as soon as I solve one problem (work, debt) another one starts up.

Rant over - sorry :( Lucky if you're reading this I know you will know how it is.

That aside, I've been sticking to my WW points all week, tracking religiously. I've had 2 AFD but no NSD. Going to have a nice soak in the bath now with a glass of wine, magazine, candle and radio - bliss.

  • Hope you enjoyed the bath and got some peace.

It must be so bloody hard to deal with MR SA. and it must be so hard to be him.

Really, we need to think of something else he can do. a new hobby? Is there anything Mr SA could do that might make money or make him feel useful? It is such a fine line tho, don't want to set up for disappointment.

You have a pond right? Would he be interested in a fish tank? or what about......could he make things? Sounds nuts sorry, I am just trying to imagine what I would do if you told me I couldn't teach (well, cheer and cry with relief after this week!!;) ). I think creating things could be helpful. However being a bloke, it might have to be practical.

What about the garden? or the dog? any projects there? I mean he cannot go back to work. This is me just thinking outside the box here, I have no idea at all obviously. just want so much to help. hutches? rabbit runs? planters? people appear to make stuff out of pallets???? Would he be interested in painting? learning to paint? growing veg?

Right enough of crazy Buffy and her suggestions. Make sure you are doing stuff for you every day - this is how you manage.

    and post here. safe place

    big love XXXXXXX
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Thank you both :)

He's been ok today, weather has been lovely and he's been pottering in the garden and has even hoovered!!!! I do understand his frustration but when he was roofing he did nothing but moan and say he'd got to get away from it. Talk about be careful what you wish for!

Hopefully this weekend will be better!

  • I do know how it is :(. I'm sorry something so positive (ie being contacted by old friends) turned into something negative. Glad to hear he was a bit better yesterday. Hope you have a good weekend Xx

Hello folks and Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!

My two have done their duty - cards, bottle of wine and flowers - I get the same every year. DD is at work and DS is doing something with GF's family. Mr SA and the dog have joined the lazy club and are watching Formula 1 upstairs. I'm cleaning up.

Good news is I've lost 2.5lb this week!! Woo hoo! Finally!!!! I've been really good and counting/tracking my points. I've decided losing weight is my number one focus at the moment. I seem to fare better when I focus on one thing at a time. Today has also been a no spend day.

Mr SA being a pain again - he's opened a private letter of DD's and she's not happy and he's been fiddling with my iPad. He even tried to say it's not my iPad, when I saved up for a year to buy it and it has all my apps and stuff on it. He's got his Kindle Fire and I don't fiddle with that - grr!!!!
