Had a nice very low spend day today. Didn't go anywhere other than a couple of walks out with the dog and the local shop. Mr SA still not great and still spotty. I'm going to ring the doctors tomorrow to see what they think. Managed to get quite a few odd jobs done today so feel I've achieved something.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Mr SA has been to the doctors and he hasn't got chicken pox it's just a rash! Phew! His fatigue and feeling off is just to do with his condition and after effects of chemo/stem cell transplant.
What's happening with:
Concessionary bus pass - doctor signed form saying Mr SA needed bus pass plus companion (which the council left off the original pass). Council came back to doctor saying if Mr SA is as bad as doctor says he is should he be travelling on public transport at all? I had to write a letter to doctor saying we need pass with companion as he's not supposed to be travelling alone.
Utilities - still not got final bill from nPower. Need to chase this up as I am over £600 in credit with them and need to know where I am.
PIP claim - not heard a thing since January. However, I know it's a very long process so am being patient.
So....yesterday was payday and I can report that altogether during March I:
Paid £28.93 into my VSP - total now £110.80
Paid £150 off debt - total now £2450
Paid £400 into holiday savings - total now £700
Lost zero pounds weight
During April I would like to:
Pay some more off debt - need to pay £272 a month to stay on track for debt free by Christmas but the holiday comes first this month so will do what I can.
Stick to budget - am determined to do this
Lose at least 4lb before we go on holiday
Book holiday (as we should go 3 weeks on Thursday so better get cracking!)
Sainsburys have sent me a voucher for £10 off £50 online grocery shop plus anytime free delivery so will be taking advantage of this offer next week.
When we get back from holiday we are going to start decorating the house. I've seen a lovely pair of curtains in Wilkinsons for the living room so might get these today and that's a start made. We are planning on doing it one room at a time.
Budgets for April:
£400 a month for groceries/pet food/toiletries/general day to day spends - hoping to be able to shave some off this as it sounds way too much - however it's surprising how it disappears. Breaking it down to week by week so £100 per week.
£240 a month for things for house/meals out/things Mr SA and I need eg clothes - breaking this down into four "pots" - house/me/him/meals out. Again hoping to shave some off this too.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Starting off April as I mean to go on - got £36.74 from Top Cashback, £5.00 from Halifax Rewards and there was a £3.00 oddment on Mr SA's ESA = £44.74. £40 has just gone off debt and the other £4.74 to VSP.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Had a lovely lunch with friends today but felt guilty when I got home as Mr SA said he had been sick. Sometimes I think he makes me wear a hair shirt when I do stuff that doesn't involve him. Yet it's all fine and dandy when he goes to the pub with his carer when I'm at work.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Spent too much Friday and Saturday not on things but meals out. Friday with friends and then yesterday with Mr SA. Had a nice time though. Got £15 to last until Wednesday and next week will have to be a low spend one to bring me back on track- no meals out!
Still not booked holiday but probably will do next weekend. I'm waiting for ISA interest to go in as holiday money is stashed in there. Not expecting a lot but anything is better than nothing.
Mr SA very tired this weekend and he fell over a dog on the park this morning. His shoulder hurts but otherwise he seems ok.
I was looking back to the beginning of my diary and it's a year on Wednesday since he had the brain bleed. How time has flown and so much has happened in that year.
I'm breaking up from work 17 April and off until 7 May. Can't wait - I'm desperate for a break. They'll have to manage without me for a bit! We plan to go away on 24 April so the few days before I hope to decorate the living room. I doubt Mr SA will be much help but he can do a bit. However decorating isn't my forte so should be interesting!
And I can declare today a no spend day!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
