Hello all - no Buffy we don't have floods or snow here fortunately. I live in the East Midlands and we seem to have our own little micro climate. The part I live in seems to miss all the weather extremes. [Touches some wood!!]

Had quite a relaxing weekend, we didn't go out apart from dog walking.

Re the driving lessons - still dithering as reckon it would end up costing well over £200 plus I can't afford to run a car. Plus a little part of me doesn't really want to do it at the moment. Mr SA has always said if he could manage without a car he would do so. They cost so much to run. So this is what I've decided to do - I'm going to wait and see if Mr SA goes back to work. If he does then I'll re-learn to drive if not then I can't afford to do it anyway. Social worker said the money was really for me to spend on pampering, day out or something I really want to buy. I'm going to hang on to the money until something I really want to do/buy comes up.

Managed to lose 1½lbs this week by the way. So back on track again. Am single-handedly helping keep Morrisons afloat as I have been in and out of our local store at least once a day since Friday! The're always reducing things and I've had some brilliant bargains. The Halifax offer ends on 1 March so trying to make the most of it - only buying stuff we need though! DD thinks I've become obsessed!

  • Hi SA  Well done on the weight loss - all going in the right direction! :)

Good idea about using the money to pay for driving lessons, but can understand why you're going to leave it for now. I've just got rid of my car and it is going to save me quite a lot of money. We can manage without a car and so if you can too, can understand that you don't want to take that expense on while things are still unsure with Mr SA returning to work.

Pleased you had a relaxing weekend! :)

I've decided the driving lessons are on a back burner for now. I don't have the time or money and I really could do without adding something else to my to do list. I'm struggling as it is with working full time (cutting my hours is not an option in any way shape or form!) and getting home, feeding the animals, looking after Mr SA, housework and I need to be in bed about 9.30 at the latest on work nights as I have to get up at 5.30. So feeling a bit exhausted at the moment. Even the weekends are busy - catching up with what I didn't have time to do in the week. Anyway that's the moaning out of the way!

If Mr SA goes back to work then I'll look into it. However, at the moment he's saying he "doesn't have long left" then with the next breath he's talking about going back to work in the summer. Told him to make his mind up he can't do both! :)

Your doing fantastic at the moment, don't forget it. At times day to day activities can feel overwhelming and never ending. Your right about driving lessons at the mo, in time this will happen. Just do as much as you can day by day, nobody will think you are a bad person if you have an off day.xx
