Exactly. It is 100% obvious that the salesman couldn't know if it would fit. No amount of sales experience makes you psychic!

Regardless... Why does it cost so much to have your windows removed? Can't you find someone to do it cheaper? Or get someone else to cut it in half?
Tip: don't ask this guy to do it https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A6ZwuEDCUAAp9QH.jpg

The store rang me back today, to which the salesman is admitting to being responsible for telling me not to bother measuring my door space. However, the store are now saying the sofa should fit through my door, due to it being a standard size sofa. Therefore it is being re-delivered Monday with 4 people to assist the sofa through my front door!
However, if it did not for they will pay for the window to be taken out as it is their fault.
Thanks again for all you help.

Brilliant to know that SCS have at least one honest salesman :)

    I'm glad it's sorted.

It's very easy to say that the OP should have measured doors first, not everyone is so untrusting of a pushy salesman.

The OP went on the salesman's knowledge and I'd suggest actually going into the store and having a chat.

People do need to be wary of salespeople. They're there to take your money.

Wouldn't be much good at their job if they didn't.
