Santander ISA's launch on 8th March

Tried to deposit in £5760 into my 2 year fixed major 123 ISA. It went out of my lloyds account, then 2 hours later has been refunded back into my lloyds.
Can I only deposit money into my ISA through branch or telephone?
My other ISA frmo 12/13 is being transferred into it as we speak.
Just looking at my letter for my 123 Exclusive Major ISA account (also pending a delayed transfer in which Santander coked up), subscriptions can be by:- From an exiating Santander account that is already registered for Telephone Banking - simply call and quote sort code and account number;
- By cash or cheque at your local branch;
- From another bank account - contact your bank and request a bill payment quoting the sort code and account number.

It was torture, listen to this recording, listen to that recording, mitigated somewhat by the fact that the advisor seemed a nice lady, didn't try to sell me anything though
Yes I just went through all that. My lady was also nice, and they called me bang on time which I was impressed with.
All set up and funded, all within 15 mins.
That's that for another year.0 -

Last week I called Santander to transfer my ISA to the new ISA at 2.5%. The guy basically told me to hold off transfering it over because my higher interest rate run out on the 10th April so wait until then to get the maximum, even if it is only a few days.
I checked this morning and they have got rid of the 2.5% rate and its now 2%.
I called back and they said they have listened back to my call from last week and that the representative was correct because he gave me the option of when to transfer.
It's been left as a complaint but I dont think its going anywhere.
Anyone know if I have a leg to stand on in my complaint? I feel I've been sold down the river!
This is exactly what has happened to me. Called last Saturday to transfer ISA to 2.5%, was told to wait until my current higher rate ended (which would have been this Saturday). Now discover rate has dropped. But at no time during that conversation do I recall the advisor telling me that the product might be withdrawn in the meantime (if he had I would have done it there and then). I am really annoyed :mad: and feel so stupid. Got home from work too late tonight to call them, but will do so tomorrow. I am in no mood to be fobbed off, but no doubt that is what will happen.4 May 20100 -

I have since discovered that the deal I signed up to actually paid the 3.5% interest only up to 1/4/2013, after which it reverted to a nominal one fiftieth of one percent. Needless to say, there was no notification of this, I would not have found out until i checked on maturity or arrival of my next statement in March 2014.
So if you took out a cash ISA with Santander last year (as many would have as it offered the highest rate for transfers-in) I STRONGLY SUGGEST you check the rate you're getting. I feel I was duped.
Did you not read the T&C?0 -

I can't find this in the T&Cs but I think you need to transfer the minimum opening deposit of £2,500 within 2 weeks of opening the account.0 -

Ive got a question about santander special offer for excisting customers. Im interested in 3% ISA, 2 year fixed. In order to get that i need to open a current account or credit card with a fee of 24£ per year, which actually brings 3% rate down to aprox 2.81% for me, which still a good rate comparing to second best Chesire BS with 2.3% (also allows transfers in).
So i was wondering, since ive got a few credit cards already anyway, what will happen if i will apply for a credit card with santander, then apply for an 3% ISA for current customers, and then in a few months just cancel my santander credit card all together.
I know i will have to pay first annual fee 24£ straight away, but to avoid the same charge on a second year, i guess i can do that, and that will improve my second year tax free back to 3%
Anyone maybe had something similar? Is it possible? thanks0 -
Hi
I prefer the 123 Current a/c option although I have had mine over a year now.
You dont have to switch your other current a/c just pay in £500/month and set up at least 2 DD. The £2 fee could easily be offset by choosing some DD you have to 123.
Also keep over £3k in the a/c and get 3% (2.4%) interest.
Cheers

Santander should have given you the option as they did me & other posters on forum to open new 2.5% ISA by last weekend to lock the rate in before its dropped to 2.0% & deley the transfer of my previous ISA, which should be done 14 days before maturity on previous ISA provider & rate drop from 3.01% to 2.01%, which is 31/05/14.
Try to complain in writing following up from phone complaint (in writing always seems to get better results) & emphasise that the representative you spoke to neglected to tell you could have opened account with nothing & delayed transfer, furthermore it does say you can do this in their terms & conditions, which the representative was responsible for advising you you in accordance but failed to do so!TARGET Deposit for my 1st house!:A NEED£30k:eek: WANT£45k GOT 1stDRegSaver:£1200@ 6% GROSS 1/10/15||SantanderISA:£11,820.41 @ 2.30% 16/04/16| Newcastle BS ISA:£15,149.80 @ 3.02%|Santander123 Cashback earnings: £274.48|TotalCashSavings:£32,302|Last Update:22/2/15:T

Well, it looks like issue 2 is out now with 2.00%.
I've opened the 2.50% on Saturday, but not yet funded and unlikely to be until the end of next week at the earliest. However, I notice that the minimum opening deposit is £2500, or zero balance if transferring in other ISAs. What exactly do they mean by this, as during the application process, there wasn't an option to say pay by debit card etc? Or would they have expected a deposit on the same day of the account opening (when they confirmed account & sort code)?
As per by previous post on this thread and others if you opened the ISA before the 2.5% dropped to 2% then you haves locked the 2.5% rate in! Well done!
The t&c's mean you can do transfer when you want as long it is a minimum of £2500 opening balance when you transfer.
hope that helps!TARGET Deposit for my 1st house!:A NEED£30k:eek: WANT£45k GOT 1stDRegSaver:£1200@ 6% GROSS 1/10/15||SantanderISA:£11,820.41 @ 2.30% 16/04/16| Newcastle BS ISA:£15,149.80 @ 3.02%|Santander123 Cashback earnings: £274.48|TotalCashSavings:£32,302|Last Update:22/2/15:T
