I transfered old money into this Santander ISA, I am now looking to transfer it too a higher paying ISA that I have.

My question is can I keep a small amount of money in this Santander account, with the hope of keeping this account active, as I may want to transfer back later in the year?

How ridiculous, trying to open 123 3% ISA, I have to ring them up (or visit branch), then they have to call me back tomorrow, thing is I have one open from last year (with a year to run). I am sure it wasn't like this last year, is it just a selling routine? icon9.gif

Yes you can :) You can split previous years' subscriptions as you wish. All current year (2013/14) subscriptions must be kept together.

As long as your 'higher paying ISA' accepts transfers in ;). Don't forget to use the proper transfer process though.

Is your delay anything to do with this news item? Santander has decided to withdraw its 123 offer. http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2013/apr/08/santander-pulls-best-buy-isa-deal

Actually it says the 2.8% fixed and 2.5% variable rate have been pulled but the 3% 123 ISA will continue to be available.

Yes I had the same, but they will only call me back on Wednesday. That was after holding on the line for 30 minutes!!
It wasn't like this last year.

Don't worry, it's just old age setting in. Happens to the best of us.

(sorry for silly remark but couldn't help it) :o

Not really because the one I am applying for is still there.
A second version of the Major Isa, offering an interest rate of 3% and available only to customers with one of the bank's 123 accounts, will continue to be available.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewere - I opened a Santander Direct ISA Saver Issue 1 (2.5%) just before the end of the 2012/2013 tax year, with a nil balance. Are there any terms I've missed specifying a time limit on when the account needs to receive the required £2500 initial deposit (or in my case transfer)? Ideally I would like to transfer my whole ISA balance in November from Nationwide (currently earning 4.25%), without having to sacrifice £2500 to Santander now attracting a lower rate just to keep the account open. Thanks.
