Hi everyone, welcome to all the new people
. Victory or anybody else who is doing calorie counting, could I ask some advice please. I know I've been very naughty because I know you shouldn't weigh too often but anyway I weighed myself yesterday and I weighed myself this morning (same time, same room same type of clothing) and I was 1/4 pound heavier this morning than yesterday morning even though I have been sticking to my calorie quota. My question is should I as I lose weight keep reducing my calorie intake and if so how often should I do this? I thought about it but wasn't sure as I don't want to reduce them too soon (and I've only lost a few pounds so far on the calorie counting system because I've only been doing it this way for just over a week) but at the same time I want to keep losing weight before my hols. Sorry if this is a bit waffly.

Hi, I have been advised by the doctor to go on a low GI diet... I am not really keen on buying loads of new cookbooks etc, (have too many alreadly!)but it does seem a bit complicated!
ok, I now know (from googling) that spaghetti is better than spuds etc, but there doesnt seem to be a simple rule of thumb to follow - I mean sussing out whether things are low fat etc is easy enough when you are out shopping, but the GI seems hard to guesstimate!
I was wondering if anyone has got any tips on good low GI foods, quick lunches, evening meals etc that arent too expensive to make?
I would be most grateful,
thanks :-)0 -

To all my friends and family i'm doing well cos I eat healthy around them. But they dont see me buying 3 choc bars in the petrol station and munching on them on the way home
I'm now at the heaviest I've been in my life
I can totally relate to you hun!!!
I too LOVE my choc!!!
I have a stupid notion that if nobody sees me eat it then it doesnt count! But the scales say different! I feel huge!:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -

Don't worry Mistywoo you're not a bit waffley. Calorie counters should lower their calorie intake around every stone or 6kg. (only know this from when I was following Rosemary Conley).I was wondering if anyone has got any tips on good low GI foods, quick lunches, evening meals etc that arent too expensive to make?
foreigncorrespondent Look into Tesco's gi diet, you should get some good ideas there. Also, the Sunday Times ran a gi diet plan for a couple of years, you should be able to get some ideas from them on their website if you look hard enough... Basically, low gi is swapping white for wholewheat, eating as little processed foods as possible. I have Rick Gallup's gi book here. For breakfast he recommends porridge made with milk and add in nuts ( high fat but low gi), baby new potatoes with skins on is basically the only spuds you can eat. If you like I can go and have a look at it for you.
Does anyone have any ideas for packed lunches on Slimming World? I'm getting a bit stuck for ideas as I don't want to use all my healthy b's for lunch
Oh, and krayzechick and pegginout - I'm a member of the secret eaters club too! I'll even go so far as to burn or hide the wrappers so my OH won't see them. I'm still trying to find a solution to it. I think cold turkey is the only way.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

Put on 1 1/2 pound this week which follows my 2 lb gain from last week.
I really need to take myself in hand and start doing the plan properly. I am feeling a little down right now but I will be better tomorrow hopefully.
Oh - I just remembered that tomorrow is DD1 birthday! Cake and icecream and pizza! I will be good, I will be good, I will try to be good:o

Evening peeps
I've missed some lovely posts, posts that made me smile, posts that made me want to reply - only trouble is they are way back there <<<<<<
Although victory did manage to make me giggle which made my OH look at me oddly as I am supposed to be on here booking a VIP tour of Universal Studios
So flying visit to announce.... wait for it..... wait
I LOST and amazing 3 lb
I swear there is a little button on the scales at SW and when they see it is your first full week they tweak the weights so you feel good :rotfl:
My fingers are X'd for the coming week. Hope everyone has a good week and I'll try to be around more often. :rolleyes:0 -
