Lose Weight 12

Hi Victory
You will need to make some adjustments to your intake, as otherwise you'll continue to lose weight. You could try eating slightly larger portions of the foods you're eating now, to give you extra healthy calories, and experiment with having an occasional treat, and re-introducing some not so healthy foods back into your diet.
As a diabetic your diet is restricted anyway, so you're unlikely to binge on sweet things.
Remember the adage 'everything in moderation'!

SkyBlue your post was very inspirational thank you very much.:smileyhea
I started dieting in Jan and have lost 10kg but after 5 weeks of the gym and still dieting i have put on 1kg. The nurse at the doctors said it is fat turning to muscle ?
I know this is what happens but i was a little upset to say the least.
I only weigh in once a month but i do read the page when i get time.
Keep up the good work everyone.xx:beer: Officially Debt Free Nov 2012 :beer:0 -
Hi, I don't know if anyone else is trying Paul Mackenna but I came across his programme on Friday morning on tv and it is on next week too so thought I maight try a bit of motivation. It is too hot here to do anything strenuous and it has at last made me realise how hard I need to try to lose weight as the heat is getting to me.

Hi everyone, welcome to all the newbies and I hope everyone with health problems is feeling much better soon.
I've decided to change track. I was following a low fat diet which has worked for me in the past, but I was struggling with it this time so I've swapped to the calorie counting thing and joined the website mentioned at the beginning of this thread the one recommended by Erlqueen. I only started yesterday but I feel much more in control of my eating now. I've done myself a spreadsheet so I can countdown how many calories I've got left for the day which I'm finding helps a lot. Poohbear I've got the Paul Mckenna book and cd and I can guarentee that evertime I listen to the cd I fall fast asleep!! Its good though and the book has a lot of common sense in it I haven't seen the programme though. Good luck everbody.0 -
H has had a go at me today so feeling a little deflated, son joined in also:eek: They want me to stop the dieting, the veg, the whole thing , that I am looking fine now and should stop, that I could take it too far and loose perspective and become too skinny but I only have just over 5 weeks till hols and can't do as they say, I am on a mission and will see it to the end plus I always have been a huge eater and will undo all my good work if for a sec I take my eye off the ball, do not trust myself just to have ' a little of what you fancy' so am stuck in limbo, I know what I do works, proof is in the weight loss so stick ridgidly to that, H and DS want me to be a bit more lenient but I do not know how to, fear of piling it all back on stops me from veering off, think I need to talk to my diabetic nutritionalist about being able to eat but maintain the weight not gain, what do you all think?
Hi Victory
Please don't let yourself feel down by what your family have said, I'm sure that they mean the best for you. IMHO I think that until you feel that you are at the right weight you'll feel as if you've sold yourself short if you stop now. When I used to go to WW, when someone got to their target weight they went on a maintenance system - each week the calorie intake was increased by 100 per day (eg wk1 1200 per day, wk2 1300 per day) +/- until the weight was stabilised, so in theory they could continue to lose for a few more weeks until the balance was achieved.
I know that when I get to my target I must continue to watch my portion sizes otherwise it'll be back to square one as has happened in the past, but this time I'm going to keep in mind that I can never eat what I would like and to eat as I am doing now but with the odd meal out. I hope that I can practice what I'm preaching, it's easier said than done.
Your nutritionalist will be the best person to give you unbiased advice, she's helped you get this far, and you have to think that you were a huge eater but not now.
I hope you feel a lot better in the morning, the gout and arthritis aren't helping either. So chin up.
xxxx
ps Just thought of this whilst having a shower - You have shown such determination to lose all this weight in what I think was a very tight time schedule, that I'm sure you'll look on maintaining as a new challenge which you'll tackle with the same determination and succeed. You have no choice anyway because the rest of us will be continuing to look to you as an example of how to do things.I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Evening All
Just doing some listing on ebay of clothes I no longer need want and thought I would come on here for a minute. By the way Ebay is doing another cheap listing day.
I sold a load of stuff last time I really lost weight 3 years ago as I went from 16 to 14. Now I have put a stone on I can still fit into 14 but I tried on 2 suits in 16 I wanted to sell. Actually the trousers now fit me. How sad - they went straight on Ebay and my motivation is better than ever.
I agree about the wine thing, that is my downfall. I was so good last week until Friday. Had 1/2 bottle of wine at the pub and then nearly another 1/2 when we got back. All in 3 hours stupid stupid me. I want to stick to 7 glasses a week and will do my best to do it this week.
Just made lots of Eldeflower Cordial, yes lots of sugar but it is diluted with water (20 to 1 I think) so it can't be that bad. Must be better than wine. I do drink a lot of water during the day so if I can swap the wine for sparkling homemade cordial it must be better.
Thanks for having me back and good luck all for next week.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I just put some stuff on last week on ebay and today it came off as sold only 2 items out of 8 for £3 each!! Is it worth it I ask myself? The clothes as you say tallgirl are just grown out of, not in bad condition or anything but to see them for £3 is daylight robbery!!
Bought £20 worth of clothes today from my fav car boot sale knock off man (River Island, Top Shop, Principles, Warehouse, Wallis)and they all fit so no need for ebay this week, I have them at their own game, I measure the waist one way and double it because I am fed up with buying it and the wrong size are in them having to do the ebay thing just to get rid of them....
I made WW cheesecake from the mag and the kids, H hated it, the gelatine did not set and it was all gloopy which is off putting so that went in the bin, tomorrow I am making the vegetable lasagna with loads of veg and a little pasta, sound lovely and much less calories than the meat one as most of the veg are free anyway...
I bought the Mattersons Turkey rashers, 25 calories a slice and they were a huge hit, taste bacony, smell it too, I know they are not bacon but hey it sort of gives in to a bacon longing without piling on the pounds!! The kids like them also, that and the quorn burgers are a huge hit, not the sausages as they do not brown and look anemic, the quorn chicken yes, the mince yes (all half price at sainsburys) amazing what the kids will eat even without thinking, brown rice and pasta has also been eaten by them and they have not murmured as well as vegetable burgers with breadcrumbs....0 -
Morning
Just done my fiirst proper WI back her and I am pleased to say I have lost 3lb. I know it has only been a week but so far so good. I resisted OH's crips last night just had a carrot no dip. Dinner was roast chicken, new potatoes and salad from the garden. No dressing just a bit of meat juice and a tiny amount of butter. Did have 1 glass of wine but that was all.
Victory I agree with you it must be frustrating for you to sell for so little. The stuff I sell is for tall ladies so a bit specialised and a pair of Long Tall Sally trousers cost well over £45. I bought a load in bulk for about £10 a piece of if I sell some of it I shall be happy. The funny thing for me was a pair of beige suede ECCO sandals I put on and had a bit on 15min later. They are quite granny like which is why I am selling them. I have now had 2 bids on them and I was actually happy just to get rid of them. Well lets see how it goes 16 items on only cost me £2.50 to list due to the reduced listings weekend.
This week is seriously 7 glasses challenge time. I am have booked Pilates tonight so wil do 1 hour at the gym before hand then chicken and chips for dinner (will only have a few and eat salad) and no wine.
I am aways Wednesday night but should be fine to stick with 1 glass as I am working. Hopefully I can do it. OH is planning to give up smoking so I hope I can be supportive of him and hopefully him of me.
Well enough ramblings for now must get on with some work.Save £12k in 25 No 49
