I heard (on QI so it MUST be true!!!!!) that crisps are actually worse for kids' teeth than sweets. I have no evidence at all for this statement, and have not looked for any yet so it maybe rubbish - this thread just reminded me so I thought I'd share!
I was told recently that this is true - something to do with the starch in potato and especially starch based crisps - squares, monster munch, pringles etc. Apparently it's worse than sugar. No wonder I need a fillingLooking forward to the future.0 -

another "nut" recipe i like making
spicy nuts
Melt: 2 T. butter
Add: 1 1/2 t. ground cumin
1/4 t. cayenne
Mix until fragrant, then pour over
10 oz. pecans, walnuts and almonds
Mix in:
2 T. sugar
1 t. salt
Spread on a baking sheet and roast at 300 for 20 mins. tossing occasionally. Delish on a salad or just by the fistful with drinks.0 -

We make spicy pitta crisps, probably not too healthy but very yummy!
Cut pitta bread into little, bitesize pieces. Drizzle some olive oil but not too much and pour over some chilli flakes, cumin seeds and then roast/bake in the oven approx 10-20 mins.
They need to cool off but are YUMMY!!!
I think its something we got off of a weekend cookery programme.Married in 2016. Bought our first home in 2017. Expecting our first baby in November 2017
