    Hi slm,

I use cherry toms as a quick savoury filler or a slice of cheese or a rivita with pate. This thread has lots of ideas:

How about home made cheese straws, they keep pretty well in a sealed box, and you are likely to have the ingredients to hand. The other thing that keeps well when opened and is relatively cheap is pretzel sticks and a big bag goes a long way. Ryvita Minis are also nice.

fake doritos made out of sheets of lasagne boiled, cut up then dried out in the oven (flavour with paprika or similar and spray with frylight or brush with oil). chick peas cooked in the oven are ok too again these could be flavoured and sprayed with a little oil but generally dont need either

Corn tortillas keep well in the store cupboard and make great Dorritos! just cut them into triangle shapes and either deep fry or spray with oil and bake in hot oven (keep a careful eye on them).
also beetroot, parsnips and sweet potatoes make wonderful crisps - just slice as thinly as you can and either deep fry or as above spray with oil and bake.
