People with smaller dogs who pick theirs up when I walk by with mine ( on lead as still learning recall). This is not all small breed owners but a fair few.0

Good ideas so far, getting me thinking!! Sounds like poop is a major issue
We have two 8 stone Malamutes so poop is definitely a BIG problem for us.

My biggest problem is finding places I'm actually allowed to walk my dog in safety
I live in the countryside of NI
We don't have the right to roam
All the countryside is owned by farmers
Beaches we can only use in wither months
Town parks, dogs have to be kept on lead
And we don't have footpaths so take our chances walking in the road0 -
Still on the countryside theme - I live in a National Park and the biggest bugbear for me is stiles. Many are completely wrong for dogs ie the type that have a wooden ladder that go over a wall or else are really poorly maintained. Many are damaged with steps missing or seriously wobbly and I don't know how a dog less agile or smaller than mine would manage them anyway. However the very worst are the squeeze stiles, the ones which are two upright posts that you squeeze between. Wide enough for my dog when new, it doesn't take long for the two posts to be pushed closer together by the wall on either side. so that in many cases you couldn't even get my leg through, let alone the dog! No wonder walls get damaged by walkers looking for another way through.
GRRRR rant over. I would be interested in your findings - any chance your research can be made available? I'm a local councillor and it would be great to have evidence like that everyone has given above to push for better provision for dog walkers. Thanks Liz
Yay it must be summer - hot air balloons flying today, they'll have a great view of the snow on the tops!0 -
Glass and rubbish bugs me! And lazy people not picking up after their dogs and walking to find bins ! Must start training my dog only to poo near bins saves me carrying bags round lol0

People who presume my dog is "evil" because she's on the lead. She's very friendly (and ickle) but she would bggr off if I take off the lead.
People who can't control their dogs, whether on or off the lead.
Near me there is a long straight walk (disused railway) and especially on the weekend it's popular with dog walkers, joggers and cyclists. It annoys me when cyclists or joggers don't make you aware that they're coming up behind you. Due to having my dog on the lead, we might be on the "wrong" side of the bike/jogger so to speak and could end up in a tangled mess. Just use a bell (if on a bike) or shout "coming through" or similar. I'm more than happy to stand to the side so they don't have to stop/slow down, but I need to know they're there in the first place. Oh and I don't listen to music or anything when out walking.0 -
I also am fed up of people letting their loose dogs come over to mine. As for the problem of the ring to clip the lead to spinning around, there are collars where the ring stays at the top so you don't have to faff about finding it. For stiles why not use a harness with a handle designed to lift the dog over?0
