bushmills only £11 at asda
Exactly the reason I went to tesco today - filled up my basket with 10 items (including Bushmills), paid, looked at my receipt, no mention of price promise. Went to customer services, read pamphlet about price promise, realised I didn't have 10 DIFFERENT items, returned Bushmills for refund, better luck tomorrow.Be kind to all moneysavers0 -

I'm guessing you do not have an ASDA close by, otherwise it would be easier for you just to go there. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
I'll miss wombling for discarded receipts but the former method of inputting the receipt details onto the PricePromise website has been a bit haywire lately. They stopped giving the last 4 digits of the receipt on the confirmation email, so if several had been entered on the same day I had to click to see the results for each one to match them up. The coupons didn't print the receipt details on the bottom so the checkout operator had nothing to match them against. Then on Sunday, the last day before the new system came in, I input two loooong wombled receipts, as well as three of my own, and all but one came back saying there were not 10 items, although there were 40-plus different items on both wombled receipts.
Whatever they're up to, it's not going to be in the customer's favour, and they're not exactly respected for transparency. I curse the fact that T are my closest supermarket, and I do visit the store rather than buy at A online, because I rely heavily on picking up reduced items in the evening.0 -
Fairs fair Twiglet, you can't accuse Tesco of being less than transparent when you are claiming on wombles.0

So automatic print-outs, like Sainsburys.
At least it's better than inputting the details, before waiting a few hours to be told you have saved a grand total of 1p by shopping at Tesco.
Asda system of 10% cheaper is still the best, even if you have to claim manually (although I wouldn't be suprised if they are working on a system to give auto-comparisons and print-offs at the till)0 -
Personally, these promotions really annoy me, especially when you get a second receipt that says 'you have saved 2p today' - well I could have saved more if they hadn't spent millions of pounds on a stupid promotion that now also prints out a second receipt.
I think the supermarkets should just concentrate on good value, good quality produce - I don't want money off my next shop, I want the one I've just done to be the right price for the right product. These stupid discount schemes only add to the likelihood that we could end up with horse or dead birds in our food because the sole focus is cost.0 -
Don't believe Tesco's price match promise. When it comes to comparing with Morrisons they have an independent agency who compare prices twice a week so if the price is cheaper than Tesco but doesn't fit in with their twice a week comparison then you miss out. How to mislead customers and rip them off whilst pretending to be all above board - "How to smile and smile and be a villain" as Shakespeare would say. It's 5 o'clock somewhere!0

Does anyone know if they take into account special offers like 'two for £2' or similar?
Went to Tesco yesterday with a specific aim of getting items that were cheaper at Asda. The nearest Asda is 6 miles away. Having studied the My Supermarket site I picked out 12 items that I wanted (12 just in case a couple weren't available) and popped in to Tesco.
I did get a saving of £2.28 but I got the wrong size of Nescafe so I didn't get nearly £4 which is what I was expecting.
To answer your question, both multibuys and special offers are included as I got 3 bags of Sultanas for £3(Asda offer). They do say that multiple offers on the same range, such as 2 for £3 or 5 for £6 are not included due to the difficulty in comparing.
My other disappointment was the voucher was to be used against a future purchase and not Clubcard vouchers. But I suppose there is no reason why these cannot be used in conjunction with another voucher say "Spend £40 and get £5 off"? Also I can't see any reason why you cannot use 2 or more of these vouchers in 1 shop.0 -

That is the same way that ASDA and Sainsburys do their price comparison, it is due to Morrisons not doing online shopping yet.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550
