    Suggestion to the Op.

Get a prepaid credit card and load it with all the cash from HSBC. Prepaid credit cards will absolutely refuse to give you more money.

Ask for a 'basic' bank account with a cashpoint only card. You have to ask for a basic bank account but they must provide one (it's a condition of doing business in the uk...thank you FSA...) . These do not provide overdrafts.

For some people it's better that way.
Be Warned: Any decision made by ATOS should be treated with the contempt and suspicion in rightly deserves. If in any doubt, make sure to appeal any and all decisions by ATOS. Do not take their word for it, do not give them an inch of trust.

When judging if ATOS were fit for work, it looks like they self-assessed. //Rant-Disclaimer End.

I bank with Halifax, the usual charge each month is £15 plus £30 for having an overdraft so £45 a month in total, i left that amount in plus £10 for myself, but on the 2nd March they took £56 leaving me £1 over my overdraft limit which they said they would charge me £35 for that.

I sent my manager a nice letter because I thought being aggressive and shouting about how unfair it was and what have you would get me no where, on Friday just gone he rang to say the charges have gone up and I should have been informed, I wasn't or I would have left enough money in the account, he was very nice about it all and he refunded the whole £56 plus has put a stop on all charges untill the 10th June as a gesture of good will.

Sometimes it's better to be nice when dealing with bank managers, especially if you want or need their help.
