Hubby went into a Mr T's at 3.30pm yesterday afternoon they were shutting at 4pm only cos i was passing and hubby said he forgot to buy some french mustard as he was having a steak for tea last night

well it was madness in there there were some thing reduced i picked up some 2 pks cherry toms and a cucumber all for 10p each .
looked to see if there was any bread/cake products therewas loads on the shelves still and loads of people milling about
obvious hoping for it to be reduced 3.45 the announcement come over the tannoy pls get your items through the till by 4pm

    still no bread reduced

WELL i can the only describe next what i thought was gonna be a riot , people where saying to the staff whats happing with the fresh bread and cakes then - NOTHING was the answer in the end people were literary having to be dragged away from just taking the stuff -by the shops security staff
and u could see the secruity people wanted to say to the main shop staff FGS just discount it sell it to people and every will leave happy-er

i cannot believe that they wouldnt even sell them at 20p a loaf or a few pence for a cake that was when the shop was closing was going to be BINNED

surely the big shops them selves dont want to have to bin food - so why do they ??

    a total waste

You don't know the reason why it wasn't reduced, could be staff shortage/not having the time to do it etc. If shop closing at 4pm it is hardly worth having a member of staff stand and reduce it with vultures circling at 3.45pm.

i was sooooo cross yday. went to Mr S in the evening and one lady had a trolley full of yellow sticker items. Why are people so greedy? :(

Why do you presume greedy? she may have had a large family and very little money, she may have been one of the angels feeding the homeless, or she may be like me I regularly pick up bargains for disabled pensioner neighbours who cannot get out to get these bargains.

I used to belong to the leave some for others camp, but having on several occasions been pushed shoved and intimidated whilst bigger younger and more agile cleared the bargains, I now take what I can when I can.

Today as I just popped into Sainsburys to pick up some hot cross buns for my parents.

    I got with YS
    . Chicken, tomato pasta salad
    . Pack of watercress
    . Pack of dough balls
    . 2 750g packs small potatoes
. 2 packs of the medium size sushi

The two packs of hxb cost 60p. The above others cost me £1!

Best deal I've ever had yesterday as Asda. Whole salmon down from £15 something (which was a special deal anyway) to £3.78. Had to take a crash course in filleting a whole fish but got 16 portions plus some scraps for a fish pie. Worked out at about 23p per portion. Well chuffed. :)
  • Yesterday I spotted one of the Big Night In spicy chicken kicking pizzas (12 inch pizza as well) on the reduced shelf, was £4.00 reduced to £1.80 so that went in my trolley. :) Will do for the weekend when the b/f visits, and he likes spicy stuff so thats a bonus.

I've been writing down all I have spent on yellow stickers for the last month, and the full price of everything. Curious to know how much I have saved by shopping late.
    Spent £17.75. Full price £68.10. Saved £50.35.
Mostly fruit and veg, some dairy, some bread and cakes. No meat.
It's nice to be able to try things I normally wouldn't be able to afford.

Some haddock fillets last night for 45p and 49p. Plenty of sea bass also, but left it as plenty of fish to get rid of.
Morrison's had loads of potatoes reduced also, but need to get rid of last weeks first. lol

    No bread-run tonight!!
