Yesterday in a new Tesco Express, I got £19.55 worth of food for £2.66. It was 5pm and I called in on the off chance because I was passing. I bought loads of broccoli and will be eating it every day. Can't get enough veg.

I find lidl 30% off is good.. Their prices are already cheap as an extra 30% off is brilliant for me! Only started this the last few weeks.

Aldi do a 30% off as well - as Aldi items sell so well, typically these tend to be more expensive cuts of meat or joints/whole birds, and sometimes pre-packed veg/salads.

Myself I've had a massive pack of chicken breasts this way, free-range chickens, top range sausages and steak as well as a few cheaper things.

  • Not huge bargains but this week got a trifle for £1.14, microwave sausages for 99p and 5 sesame bagels for 80p in Sainsburys

Got some bits last night, nothing big. 4 pack egg custard down to 22p, some croissants and doughnuts 22p, coleslaw 30p etc. We waited until half 8 for them to reduce the bread with the days date but they never came. Very strange its usually 7pm on the dot they do bread.

Hubby went into a Mr T's at 3.30pm yesterday afternoon they were shutting at 4pm only cos i was passing and hubby said he forgot to buy some french mustard as he was having a steak for tea last night

well it was madness in there there were some thing reduced i picked up some 2 pks cherry toms and a cucumber all for 10p each .
looked to see if there was any bread/cake products therewas loads on the shelves still and loads of people milling about
obvious hoping for it to be reduced 3.45 the announcement come over the tannoy pls get your items through the till by 4pm

    still no bread reduced

WELL i can the only describe next what i thought was gonna be a riot , people where saying to the staff whats happing with the fresh bread and cakes then - NOTHING was the answer in the end people were literary having to be dragged away from just taking the stuff -by the shops security staff
and u could see the secruity people wanted to say to the main shop staff FGS just discount it sell it to people and every will leave happy-er

i cannot believe that they wouldnt even sell them at 20p a loaf or a few pence for a cake that was when the shop was closing was going to be BINNED

surely the big shops them selves dont want to have to bin food - so why do they ??

    a total waste
