Several times recently I've seen fresh sardines heavily reduced at our Tesco, which has a fresh fish counter. They normally have to be used that day and I often have another meal planned, so I haven't bought them very often. This week I did buy.
Well over a kilo of fresh sardines for £1.80, I filleted them, otherwise I'd have been grilling whole sardines all evening. Absolutely delicious.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Picked up some french brie yesterday in Waitrose which had been reduced from £2.75 to £1.09. When I got home I realised it had gone through at the original price, took it back and was refunded the £2.75 as a gesture of goodwill so got it free.:)0 -
