I was in the supermarket at the right time on Friday. These packs of marinated chicken, dated "use by Friday", were reduced to 30p each. I put one in the fridge and the rest in the freezer. I cooked the pack from the fridge today and it was really tasty. There's far too much in one pack for just me to eat at one sitting so I will finish it off tomorrow. I will get the other packs out of the freezer when my son comes to visit.

I recently had to pull myself up on the reduced price shopping. I was buying fancy-ish loaves of bread that were still more expensive than what was full price on the shelf (e.g. a branded multi-seed loaf more expensive, even reduced, than supermarket own brand). Sometimes it's nice to have a treat, but I'm a bit stricter with myself now.1

This is not unusual around Christmas. It is best to clear some space in the freezer and try to guess the time that they'll stick the 20p stickers on. My shopping trips usually involve visiting a few supermarkets around 6pm or 7pm.surfsister said:BEST SHOP FOR ME Morrisons Christmas eve one year back as the shop was due to close. i only wanted an extra loaf but came away with chickens for 10p 4 pintas 2p gammon 20p etc the manager was at the door encouraging people to indulge so the excess was not wasted!!
I need a bigger freezer. I have put aside £5 for this to spend at a house clearance auction.0 -
Exact time Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury's, Co-op, Tesco and Aldi reduce their food revealed (msn.com)
I have no idea how accurate this is but it may help some x1 -
Reduction times vary from supermarket to supermarket. Could be down to which manager is in and which code checkers are in, On a very odd occasion, I had to do the final reduction as the CC on the late was on sick or annual leave. Probably do this once 8-10 weeks.
