Hi, can anyone please advise me or update me on the "smart parking" PCN notices at present. Do they now have themselves sorted out legally, or is the advice still to ignore all PCN letters.
    Many thanks.

You need to start your own thread and give us more details.

You agreed not to bump/hijack old threads in your signup and the best advice is in the posts just above yours - start your own thread please.

That way you get the best current advice, tailored to your individual situation.

And no, the advice has not been to ignore PPCs in England and Wales, not for a very long time now.

    Welcome to MSE!

You probably found this by Googling but this thread sits on a whole forum of current information (you are reading just one old 'page' of the doorstop of a book right now!). You can find page one by clicking on the blue 'breadcrumb trail' at the top of this page (my signature below tells you the words to click on). Easy.

Then read the current top threads including to the sticky threads (permanent info notices stuck at the top). Start with 'Private parking ticket? Newbies please read this first!'. If this was in England/Wales, you need to learn how to appeal & win like everyone else does. As soon as they discover & read the top current threads on the forum it's a cinch and you are then at a point in the forum where you can also click on a 'new thread' button if you are left with any questions.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

    start a new thread
  • I read all the complaints about Smart Parking and after my father got caught in the same situation researched with police and an asda manager.

Peoples....this is NOT a con. Smart Parking is a genuine company working for Asda issuing tickets.

Legally they do not have the same clout as the police and traffic wardens, BUT THEY ARE GENUINE!!!!

I think the moral of this story is DO NOT READ BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET!

I really don't know what point you are trying to make but yes they legally exist as a company. This was mentioned earlier on this thread.

They are very easy to beat on appeal so nobody should end up paying their charges if they appeal using the advice found on this forum.

It never ceases to amaze me just how stupid some people are, they almost deserve to be ripped of by PPCs.
