I cooked a leg of lamb today and have quite a bit left over.
I'm really good at using leftover roast chicken but I'm unsure what to do with my leftover lamb, apart from making my cat even fatter.
What would you do?0 -
Use in sandwiches? Or chop it up and use to make shepherd's pie. Lamb curry :drool:I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

Lamb stew, lamb casserole, navarin of lamb, any middle eastern recipe, slice it and serve cold with different pickles and chips - my mum's favourite !
I lived on a sheep farm and lamb can be used in place of any other meat in recipes, and didn't we get sick of it :laugh:0 -
Make a pilaf with rice , fried onions, raisons etc or a pie with fried onions, mushrooms, a small tin of butter beans, some cooked peas and gravy topped with puff pastry.0

Hiya
We have an older thread (culled from "leftovers" in the MEGA Index) about leftover lamb, and so I've merged your thread with it.

For my stovies take a biggish pan and fry plenty of onions really well, slice, plenty of peeled potatoes add to pan and stir round, add half pint chicken stock and cook till potatoes are cooked and most of the liquid absorbed then stir in meat and heat through, you can use any meat, but i usually use corned beef which mixes in well. dryish potatoes are best its very economical and nice served with oatcakes and a glass of milk. Adjust the amount of stock to the amount you are making.0

my FIL kindly gave us a leg of lamb at the weekend which i cooked. As it was so warm we didn't have a roast dinner we had it cold with salad.
we've also had homemade lamb kebabs but there is still a lot left and i don't want to waste it.
i've haven't got any room in my freezer after a large costco shop.
i would normally do rissoles or shepherds pie but fancy a change it also needs to be something the kids will eat and i HATE curry.
thanks- jan GC £200

Stirfry? Lamb and mint sauce sandwiches/rolls? Moussaka? The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0
