Got my first £5 towards our hols ... Sold another book on amazon :)

Waiting now for free insertion day on the bay of E and will get rid I some more things, am going to use nectar for some shopping ... All in all I hopefully will get £100 towards our hols... So we have a start which is great ... I have 1 ten hour shift overtime for June which I will get the money for in July not much further to go for spending money there as we are all inclusive so whilst we will need some money we don't need a whole lot

So plans for today, a little bit of shopping in aldo's then using some if the ne@tar card at sainsbubs ( it's so weird not writing the proper words and I often forget not to ) will try and get it for as little as possible so that I can put the remainder into the holiday fund.

Hopefully some time in the garden and then some relaxing time spent with mr el

Hi Elantan, just thought that I would let you know that I finally got round to doing Parkrun after our conversation on here at the start of the year. Completed my 3rd one today and although I am bright red by the end of it, I have been enjoying up. Sp thanks for sharing it on here or I would never have known about it! Best wishes!

Oh catster that's fantastic I am so happy for you, and wish ... Sorely wish ... I could say the same :(

Every time I try and run I end up in agony with shin splint pain, I've tried barefoot running still in pain, I've rested the legs for weeks to try to let them heal, started back ... In pain ... I don't know what else I can do ... I miss running, I'm not good at it by any stretch I the imagination but I love it, when I see mr el going for a run ( and he hates running btw ... Absolutely hates it) I get quite envious as I just now I can't do the same as him

So do you think you will try for a 10k ?
  • Glad you enjoyed your break away El, sounds like you had a nice time - at least you got to try it out for free ! :p

Sorry to hear work is pants again for you, agree that there's no point changing one working time issue for another that's just as bad.

With the no overtime thing and resulting money drop, could you not fit in one or two of your "private" sessions instead to make up the shortfall ? You seemed quite keen on those & they looked promising work for you.

Did you take up NorthernLas with the offer of a CV Template ? I also have one I could send you - if they're different (and thats not a problem), you could mix & match them to suit your type of work ?

As for the budget, the only places I can see (other than your non-negotiable overpayment on the mortgage) is the fun money & shopping sections. Though I did think that maybe if it's just for a couple of months .. you could think about taking say just £25 from the overpayment section then top it back up after the holiday ?

Glad to hear you're enjoying more relaxing time out, sorry you're still not able to run yet. Hope that sorts itself out real soon.

    Angel xx

I'm thinking El...we've probably all got CVs we could help you with. You could get a structure from someone, make a start and then circulate.

    As for your shin splints, I think this forum has about 30 different cures. Have a look;

    Hi all,

been resting and relaxing over the weekend ( apart from the work phone calls obviously)

ok i am going to put this out there, would really love help on getting a C.V done, have looked at some online and had one of my brothers email me his and his got him a job and i am happy for him but to me it looked hellish ... now in my opinion that speaks more about me than him, his obviously was the right thing as it got him a job, so maybe i need to get my head around how to do it the way that seems acceptable, as what i think looks right isnt .. so if anyone can help me i would honestly appreciate it .

i have also decided a new tactic regarding my weight, as you know ive tried everything i can think of including counseling ( least said about that the better me thinks) so i have decided to start a 100 week challenge to turn my health around, my 100 month financial challenge really seems to have helped me focus, so i am hoping it will be the same health wise, i have started a diary on the health board incase anyone is wondering/bored.

mr el cut my hair last night, i gave his a trim and he was boasting about how much we have saved since i started cutting his so i said yeah shame you cant do mine, in fact here ya go, and i sat down... he was as nervous as anything lol ... but he trimmed it, nothing brilliant but it's tidier and it means now i can just go twice a year( or if i have a job interview to go for) for a hair cut now and mr el can trim it in between :)

angle i dont want to cut back on my £500 0verpayment at all. i want to do this challenge, i will find ways and i will get there, i have loads of things that can get sold that i just need to get my finger out and do it, so maybe i need to look at it as instead of doing a shift i will have x amount of things up for sale, the wee private jobs i do i am not banking on just in case they get cancelled, so if they do come off then it means i have less to save for which makes me very happy :)

Butti, i have looked at runners world but maybe i read the wrong bits, will have another wee look thanks and this will sound so stupid ... but what do you mean by structure ? ... hope your good honey
