If you order any remember that the old style labels are only valid until June - the new ones are valid from April 2nd...
Airmail ones don't change
Useful information, I'll only be signing up for a new business account (to start April 2nd), so just have to make sure I get the correct ones.0 -
The only downside to the standard business account is that I believe it will be subject to the same size restrictions as the retail side (whereas RM24/48 is not).
OK, I have not read all the thread so apologies if I have got the wrong end of the stick here but I have just opened a business account with Royal Mail and there are no size restrictions. I have just started migrating back to eBay too following the introduction of Google Shopping's introduction of charges.
There is no parcel size with the RM account - just weight - so under 1kgs, 1250g, 1500g, 1750g and under 2kgs. As an example, I can sent a 1kg parcel (no size restriction) for £2.38 plus 2.5% fuel surcharge and VAT. As I am VAT registered it means I actually get postage for much less than I am paying now. I can access all other services and yesterday got a big box with all my Airsure/ISF/Recorded Delivery/Special Delivery labels. I still have to receive the software etc.... but I think they are completely overwhelmed with people asking for accounts ATM.0 -
I am still waiting for the call back from the sales team, they did say up to 72 hours, which would have been before friday...
so will give them a ring back on monday.Work to live= not live to work0 -

Did you fill in a form online or call them? They did not call me back as promised either but there is a form online to fill in and so I did that and they did call me back after that. It's been nearly 2 weeks and I do not have the licence thingy and I have to learn how to use it as well. I think I might just get the stamp at £5.50 though.0 -
You used to be able to get a business account if you were sending less than 5000 items a year and you may still be able to get one after the changes even if you are sending under 1000 items. The old 5000 limit related to the even cheaper PacketPost service which is being replaced in April by the new RM24/48 services and has the 1000+ limit.
Don't wait until you reach 1000 items a year - contact them now. Even if you don't qualify for RM24/48 you may still be able to get a standard business account which is still cheaper than than PO retail prices.
Just to pick up on this, I have been given a standard business account for 1000 parcel pa and my info tells me I am able to use all RM services including Letters/LL/RM24/48/RD/SD/SP/AS/ISF.... I just have to choose the service I want online from the account manager.0 -
My application for an OBA was very quick, less than a week, I phoned them initially to set it all up. I have not yet received the bags labels etc but other than that I am ready to go!0
-
I phoned then, and as we just moved premises, I had to register the business at the new address first, then I phone back, and they asked a few questionns, and said someone from the sales team would contact me.
So I will only be listing 'thin things' until a OBA is up and runningWork to live= not live to work0 -
CTC, I'd fill the form in as well. It makes no difference really. You might have got lost in the volume of calls.0

although 2.5 cm thickness may knock out a few
the 8 cms rule on small packet is ridiculous
Personally think it is ridiculous as well. How can a 10cmx10cmx10cm parcel weighing 200grams cost almost twice as much as one 45cmx35cmx8cm weighing 1kg?Really? What would you have done?
I would have done something that kept in proportion with the other dimensions, 8cm is tiny.
If they wanted to reduce the sizes thats fine but now they are going to more expensive than almost all of the cheaper couriers even for something that many would consider a small parcel. My local Collect Plus is closer than the post office and will save my customers over £2 a parcel even if it only weights 200-400grams.0 -

I warned people many times they wouldn't like whats coming
every time something changes.
folks are up in arms
did you really believe the hype that strikes etc were just about money?
Also to make it clear. If you want to compare prices then compare like for like.
Collect+ is a courier. with none of the legal/contractual ties of RM
Im not saying the price structure is how I would have done it(I would have went with a tiered tracked service personally) but this is what you have0
