This is a great thread. For years I've ignored my debts because that seemed to big - not very clever i know!
Break it down and tackle it a bit at a time! So simple. I will join in please.
I don't know the figures right now but I have quite a few debts to clear. We will start with a debt which I think is around £400 and ill update properly when I check it tomorrow.
Surenewname - £400. 1% = £4.
Ill be back with updates and my plan of action later in the week.

Hi all and an especially big welcome to all the newbies. Its great to see that this thread is still inspiring people to chip away 1% at a time - Little Miss you should feel very proud
Brilliant progress from everyone considering it's that expensive time of the year - well done everyone
I have some BIG news to share - I have finally got around to paying in the money I had previously earnt from my craft fairs & facepainting but have also been sooooo busy with more craft fairs & parties that I also made quite a bit more from these last minute ones. Coupled this with my hubby & I's decision not to have crimbo presents this year but put the money into savings ready for another BTL house deposit I have just transferred £1200 into the savings account.
This means:-

Hi all,
I hope you are all excited for Christmas!
This will be my lat payments for debt busting, so my final total for 2013 is..............
*drum roll please*Member #198 £6,773.16/£15,505.08 (43.68%) :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
It isn't the 50% that I was aiming for (thanks to the redundancy, massively lower paid job etc) however, I am still really pleased that my debt is now 4 figures, instead of 5! Plus it's 'not real' debt - just my Student Loan and Bank of Mum left
Have a fabulous Christmas and New Year - and see you in 2014 to get rid of the last bit!DEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!
Debt at Highest (November 2010) - circa £40k

Hi
I am joining up for this one with a small debt on a credit card but most of the min payment goes to the interest so I want to bust that one first. So total is £650 and 1% is £6.50. My aim is to pay as many percent per month as possible.
Can I have a number please.0 -
I haven't been around much but this thread is brilliant. Having a new year debt planning session and am at £15212 remaining thus have paid of 36% since April.
All of my debt is at 0% and one until March 2016 (shiny new MBNA) so I am moving forward but taking my foot off the brakes a bit. I have divided the remaining balance on 3 cards into equal monthly payments until each one is paid off at the 0% end date.0 -
Hope you have all had an amazing xmas. I have been offered a few 0% deals so will be transferring balances and paying off what I can ready to start a fresh in the new year
So technically I am on 0% again. I am going to try my hardest to be debt 100% free in 2015 (except mortgage) Happy new year all
