Hi all - hope you all had a brilliant Christmas and wishing you all a very Happy New Year.
Well my new % totals will be off to a good start once I get to the bank in the New Year.
I got given £200 from my parents for Christmas and also won £5 on a scratch card from them as well so that will be £205 straight away. Plus persuaded my hubby to shut some of his unused credit card accounts and received a cheque back for £21 which he says I can have so that will be paid in and added. So that's £226 waiting to be paid in.
I have also returned two pairs of tights I bought for his Christmas do which I did not wear (cannot believe I paid £12 and £8 for one pair of tights!!!) as I wore just a normal cheap pair in the end so that's a £20 for the savings pot which I have just transferred in.
I also have a £35 dress which I never wore (Hubby told me to get two but I will never wear them again - so will return the one I did not wear). Won't count the £35 until actually returned though.
So in the New Year I will be able to declare £246 = 6% (or 7% if I get around to returning the dressMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Hello all!
Took me a while to find us, back in the Diaries again!
Hope you all had a lovely MSE Christmas!
Still making slooow process but all in the right direction!
New Years round up coming soon, numbers will be out then.
I'm so pleased to see new folks joining, it's great to grow the group and help more folks break debt down!
Here's to 2014 being the year lots more of us get to their 100%0 -
Little miss, do you think it may be a good idea to start a new thread, linking to this one, for 2014 in the Dfw board (no idea why they've moved us again)?
Spent a bit in the sale today but got 2 parts of 2 presents for birthdays and got some bits in the sale for my kids. All pjs sorted now and ds has 5 new topshoping to sell some of the smaller clothes we have to fund some more bits. 3 kids are expensive lol I've emailed a local eBay buyer that's bought kids clothing off me recently to give them first refusal.

Shifted my Amazon subscribe and save around so instead of saving 5% a month i get 15% savings by bundling the orders together every 2nd month to get over 5 items delivered to qualify for 15% (means ill have to store more but worth it IMO).
Hoping to tidy up today and find more things to list on Ebay before 5th January

I've just cancelled my two crafty magazines I have on subscription from my local craft shop. I also only ever flick through them for an hour max and this will save me £10 a month (or £120 a year) so I will be adding this monthly amount to my totals come JanMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020

Still not sure what my new total is as I am sorting out a 0% balance transfer (just moved so have to prove my change of address but they will call me back in an hour) Having a clear out ready for ebay and received a refund from my bank of £33 for over charges so that will be paid straight off the amount too. I am having an alcohol free January, taking food to work every day, taking my debit card out of my purse, have created a budget which should give me an extra £300 a month to dent the debt with with just wages, am hoping to double that (this month at least) with ebay sales and other money making ideas. OH will be taking care of any extra shopping (which is my biggest downfall as I pop into the shop for milk end up spending £30!!)
Am very excited to start again. If we have a new thread can you please let me know as I am rubbish if I don't post at least every few days I lose sight of it and I need to be debt free by 2015Happy new year all
