    Hi everyone,

Well done for so many people having %'s to report. I don't seem to be doing brilliantly at the moment, but I am trying hard and am hoping that it will pay off in the future :D.

Not sure if many of your know but I have started my own personal "5 a day" challenge. I have challenge myself to do at least 5 things each day in a bid to earn / save money. I cannot believe that I started this challenge a week ago today  Time obviously flies when your having fun.

I've just added up everything I have managed to save / earn in those 7 days and I'm really surprised. I have managed to save almost £80 by doing simple price comparisons online, using coupons, making OH packed lunches and talking him into some house repairs rather than calling in a handyman (this alone saved at least £50 ;)). I'm gobsmacked that the little things add up so brilliantly :j

However, as the holiday is looming I can't transfer over this amount into the savings pot at the mo as we may want it to spend on holiday (plus we've had an expensive month so far!!). However it really has inspired me to keep plodding away at the little things as I can now see that they are worth it :D:D

Finally, Little Miss thank you for updating this thread. Could I be a pain and change my 1% to £50 - I'm at 1% so far - :D - thanks xx

What a simple yet brilliant idea. :T:T:TWell done.
I have some 'odd jobs' that need doing -I was going to try and find a local tradesman as Mr tc isn't very keen on DIY...Might either:
    a) try to get him to do most of the jobs (in the first place) or
    b) try to attempt them myself... :rotfl:  then hopefully he'll think he can do them better and take over. :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Hi folks!

I've popped the extra updates on, cheers!

Had £25 cash back from Quidco which was nice! Used it to round all my figures down to the nearest £5. Making token payments always cheers me up, even if it's just a pound or two. :)

Been playing with the snowball calc yest & today. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with my min payments and had the whole "if I wasn't paying interest I could clear this a lot faster" mindset. I told my self to shut up :D and looked at the numbers. Turns out it won't cost me as much interest as I thought so that was reassuring. If I let it drag on, it will cost me but if I focus on clearing it asap it's like an extra 3% or 4% - not too bad.

Now this is where I need to put my thinking cap on - in order to be debt free before my birthday I've got to find/make/earn an additional £114 per week and put it to my debts!!!! I've worked out that just on my wages alone I'll be £1824 short (22%) so I've got to up my income by that much over the next 16 weeks.

I have got some bank charges with the ombusdman that would really help. I've got to find some other ways to get the rest done!

That amount is probably what I would have paid off if I hadn't had a few weeks out of work. Well least I know what I need to do!

On Sat I'm going to have a whole MSE day, writing letters, sorting expenses, setting stuff up so that I make better choices for the next 16 weeks! Right, better go - I'm off to concentrate on that final 22%

    Have a great day everyone!

Still need to write that letter requestiong a list of transactions from my bank from 2007 to see if I can claim the bank charges.

I wonder if someone can tell me the answer to this question because I'm confusing myself.

Is the minimum monthly payment counted along side the other 1%s we manage to make?

Like, my monthly minimum payment is £60 to my council tax debt - and my 1% is £5. So would that mean when I do my minimum payment I add 12% to my total?

    Thanks x

    Hi JCD_Capulet

I don't count my minimum payments in my %s - not sure if that's corrcet or not though ;)

Anyway, I've noticed on my Debt1 my minimum payments have reduced by about £10/month now so I use that £10 towards more %s as well as finding more %s from ebay, copper jar, fod shop savings etc.

    Hope this helps

Hi little miss please could I have two different targets, #1 = £3000.00 that's at 23.87% and #2 also £3200.00 but that's only at 3% thank you x I have combined alot of items together for #1
    The 1% Challenge #76 - Debt 1 = £620 - 1% = £6.20 - 4.3%
    Debt 2 = £1600- 1% = £16 - 0%
    Debt 3 = £1012 - 1% = £10.12 0%

    Pay all your debt by Xmas 2016 #130- £465.86/£7636.46 - 6.1 %
    Make £10 a day ~ Jan £182.49, Feb £373.65
