I'd like to join please!! I have £1200 in HSBC Graduate Overdraft and £650 at Lloyds TSB Current Account Overdraft. I hate owing money or spending money I haven't earnt so it's time they disappeared. Totalling £1850, my 1% is £18.50, but I've decided to round it up to 1% = £20. Can I be added to the list please?!!!!

    Hi fellow 1%'s!

My ebay sales came in at the weekend so another 6% paid off the debts: :j

    Debt 1 - 18%

    Debt 2 - 9%

I've put an old coffee jar in the cupboard at home and every night I get in, I check my purse and if I have any coppers and 5p's I pop them into it.......hopefully it will add up to more %'s soon!! :T

Keep at it guys - I feel great.......!

Another 2% for me :j (total 6%, 94% to go)

Two no spend days in a row and I had some work today so put a little extra on the council tax card rather than leaving it in the house money box looking tempting.
Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:
This time I'm on top of it! We live and learn :coffee:

  • Hi, LMUD

Not quite sure how the % are crossed off on the member's list, so I don't know if you would show my original aim of £4500 being paid off in January and my new aim being £6200 at a 1% rate of £62.00?

Thank you for your hard work in keeping this thread up to date.:A

    Savings goal £30,000 1% = £300.

Yes! On the list when you get to your 100% I added a star with a note of your original 1%. So on the list I can see you did 100% @ £45. Now you're on to your second goal! (Amazing progress!)

I wish I could write it out long form with the dates etc but that pushes onto the next line. Hope my crafty abbreviations make sense! :)
  • Thank you for explaining, I hadn't worked that out!:D

Reclaiming PPI was a BIG bonus and really helped me to look at what else I could do.
I have also reclaimed a credit balance on my gas bill, which will now go down (I hope) because I managed to afford a new central heating boiler from the PPI payment as well as paying off 2 credit cards.
My old one was about 40 years old, so bound to have been very uneconomical and environmentally unsound.
So lots of benefits coming indirectly from the PPI:T

    Savings goal £30,000 1% = £300.
