Hi everyone, you all seem to be doing a fantastic job :T
I've paid another 3% so 22% Paid To Date over one fifth down - woo-hoo!
Happytails, I just saw your post about helping a lady with a sling, is this some special sort of sling you use? In Wales years when women wore shawls it was sort of wrapped around the baby and then the mother creating a sort of sling with one arm. Some women still do this today and it helps babies to settle.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -

We use long wraps (just long reinforced lengths of material), mei tai's (Asian carriers), ring slings and soft structured carriers which are much comfier and supportive than highstreet carriers and are great for bonding/reflux/not needing a buggy/soothing ill/upset child etc etc
It's just something that people don't know much about as the highstret carriers these days are rubbish, strain your back and dont offer correct support for baby so we hold a meet to inform parents etcHi everyone, you all seem to be doing a fantastic job :T

Also my thoughts are with all the people who have had bad things whilst I've not been here - I would send a virtual hug to you all but can't find the smilie - sorry
Anyway I managed to cash in our left over dollars from the holiday which amounted to just over £1300I'm claiming £500 of this on my total as I think after all the money saving things I done thats fair
. So:-

So I messed up - doh!! "forgot" about a £1000 debt owed to a family member but was reminded today. Its the last one... honest guv I swear
So my 1% is now £238
However - some good news - I am hopefully getting a shiny new 0% cc so with less interest my 1% payments should have more of an impact.0 -

Hey Happytails,
That's fantastic that you do sling meets! I know my friend wanted to use one of them and did a lot of research before getting one & learning how to wear it. She got really bad hip ache from carrying her first child on her hip all the time and wanted to avoid it second time round. I've seen the resources available online and they're pretty basic.
I know you're already super busy but I just wanted to point out that it's a really interesting topic! You could easily create a basic website with an intro, list of benefits and maybe even a video of how to tie it (all of the videos I've seen don't make it look easy and look like they were filmed by candlelight!)
At the bottom of your page you could link to a couple of the best carrier slings/ring slings that you would advise people to use. You would make a few pounds for anyone that went through and bought one from Amazon. Even if it just makes enough to cover the cost of the site (£10 per year) then I'm sure it would help a lot of parents! It could easily be a bit of side income.
As you have said there are lots of parents that can't make it to sessions to learn - or don't even know about the slings in the first place!
If you wanted to do it, it could easily be done in 1 weekend. If you wanted to put more time into it, it's easy to update when you have new things to add. If you need anything, I'd be glad to help.0 -
Lmud - i have thought about it and the husband is a web developer but there are plenty of good sites and info online already and some really good tutorials and forums etc And i havent got the time nor the expertise (you can get qualifications for this sort of thing!) to do it but thank you for the suggestion.
Well last night the boiler started smelling of burning plastic/electric smell so had my dad look at it but weve had to turn it off. luckily i can manage without the radiators now but need to call someone to look at it, looks like i probably wont be paying off the overdraft at the end of this month
Also i had take out on Sat, it was £10.70 for 2 adults and thats our takeaway for the week (limited to 1 a week). Then last night we had home made chicken goujons, hm pizzas and garlic flatbreads, OMG they were divine, ingredients probably cost the same but fed 4 adults and 2 small children.
