Faster Payments can take until the next working day, it's just that they typically take under two hours, and realistically are usually instant.

You may be right though that your first "large" transfer to a specific account might take longer.

They changed T&C?

Yes - recieved a letter yesterday telling me my £1k overdraft is being taken away. Really badly written letter telling me 'Your new facility will start from ust 2013. Please make sure that your account balance is brought below, or remains below the new limit before this date'. As far as I can tell that's a typo, not a date :mad:

Not happy really and the letter doesn't say why. There's nothing about my account that warrants this (using it as primary account, wages go in etc). About to get on the blower to Nationwide to find out why.

Well spoke to Nationwide - my OD has been removed as there isn't enough money going into the account (I did query why that was as my monthly wages go into it). All the operator could tell me was that they will review it in a few months, possibly December, and it 'could' change then.

No good for me as I needed the 0% OD for a year, so I'll be sorting closing my account as this is not what I wanted. Irritating as I've changed all my direct debits and wages etc to go into/out of this account.

How long does the £1000 that you transfer between current accounts have to remain in the account for, can I just manually transfer the money into the account and transfer back out again straightaway?

Manual 'instant' in and out works fine, as long as from external organisation

Time is irrelevant. There just needs to be £1000's worth of deposits in a calendar month.

I got my first flex direct opened around a week ago and I've just tried to open another two today, after logging in to my 1st account.

The 1st application (for the 2nd account) went through ok and I got a screen telling me my account number and sort code, but the 2nd application (for the 3rd account) didn't go through as easily and I got a 'we will have to do more checks and will get back to you within 5 days' screen.

Anyone else had this?

yes. it came through after a few days. i now have 6 accounts - all fine and earning interest, opened from may onwards.
