Evening
I have been a bit absent from these boards this week due to working late and coming home feeling shattered.
I have not bought lunch so far this month and without making you jealous my paella was delicious, so much so I am hoping to make another batch when I go to the shops next week.
Claire, I am sure chicken will be just as good.
I boiled some eggs whilst I was cooking dinner earlier so am having egg mayo sandwiches tomorrow because I fancy a change from hot food.
Happy munching

Hi all
Some really good ideas in this thread, jelly in particular appeals
I nearly had a blip on Monday - forgot to take my lunch to work, but luckily I'd set off early to take OH to the train station so had time to go home and get it. Tomorrow's lunch is waiting in the fridge (pasta with a home made tomato sauce) so I'll be up at 5/20 so far.0 -
For the last three weeks I haven't bought anything for lunches at all - normally I'd buy them at the weekend but I've managed to go on leftovers (one week I had a roast beef dinner S/M/T, then braised the beef and had it with rice/veg W/T/F!) and food out of cupboard
That is such music to my ears! I saw this thread and it made me think I should share some of the ideas I have about taking lunch to work. I reckon I save a few grand a year doing this.0 -

Well, I have a pack of pate waiting in the fridge and some cucumber sliced in a little pot ready for this weeks sandwiches. I may ring the changes by having pate on toast some days :rotfl: I already have a multipack of crisps because I bought 2 last week on a 2 for £3 deal and I have bought some more value cashew nuts to replenish my stock and a pack of crumpets for breakfast..

Evening
Last week was really successful. I took my frozen sandwiches to work everyday and only spent money when I forgot my crisps
I am not at work until Thursday this week so I haven't made any lunch so far but I will do so for Thursday and Friday.
I think I will use medium slice bread this week though because the sandwiches were hard to get through with thick slice.
This challenge has gotta be the idea of my year so far so thank you allSPC9 #125 - £816.85

Hi 32b, do you mean the thick slices remain frozen for too long?Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000

Can I join? I always take lunch to work though so this will be easy for me! I've just baked myself pasta bake for tea and I've got enough left I reckon to take a portion to work every day until at least Thursday!
I usually take things like noodles (Branded 5 for £2 or shops own for about 28p each so a week's worth for just over a pound.I also enjoy sandwiches and heinz tinned spaghettis/pasta meals/soups. I usually also take a yoghurt and some fruit or cereal bar or even some cheeky chocolate!
