Gemguin - just a thought, I have found my scalp clears up COMPLETELY when I'm on hols near the seaside and so I bought Lush Big shampoo with sea salt in, it looks weird but it had the same effect and it does wonders for my hair. My mum used to love Aveda too, hth.

    Hello all!

    A few updates from me.....

    NBIs
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream 30ml x 2 (moved over from ebay stash)
Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm 3ml (got a sample in the post - yeay!)

    UUs
Gillette Satin care shave gel 200ml - WBA but I have more shave gels to use first
Lush Breath of Fresh air toner 250g - WDBA, loved this! My No7 ones seem boring by comparison
Oral B Enamel shield toothpaste 75ml - WBA, favourite toothpaste brand!
Sensodyne Pronamel Mouthwash 250ml - WNBA, hated the taste so much I poured the last two servings of it away because I couldn't bear the use it again! Same goes for the toothpaste, it's rank! Plus I find sensitive mouthwashes often set off my sensitivity yet the normal ones are fine, weird!

Moved into ebay stash (which I keep seperate) to be sold as a boxed gift set

The Body Shop Body Butter Duo Sweet Pea 200ml
The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil 100ml
The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Scrub 200ml
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Mask 100ml
The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist 100ml
The Body Shop Hand cleansing gel - Strawberry 60ml

:bdaycake::bdaycake:HappyTorty and Dolly84, good to hear about your birthdays! Sounds a very good day already and more to come.

My son asked what I would like for Mothers Day in the food line. We have a very good meat wholesalers that is open to the public and DS got me some lovely minute steaks, oh yum! (Sorry vegetarians!)

I will have a beauty appliance out later, as I pass on my not so old hot air brush to DD, having managed to get a new one to review for Amazon Vine.

I am coming to the end of my 'winter' shower gel, the Avon Cranberry and Cinnamon. I just wish the winter was coming to an end too! Luckily the snow forecast for our area hasn't materialised, just cold rain and wind. No other news to report on the toiletries front which is just as well, bathroom is looking a bit cluttered again with all my freebies. :D

Just caught up after a turbulent day at work yesterday that was just horrendous and left me reeling last night, hate that I let work worries encroach on my weekend but I'm a terrible one for picking things to pieces, especially when I'm tired! Feeling much better today though :)

To those who have a birthday  and to all the mums I hope you have a lovely pampered day tomorrow (Sanctuary box for my Mum, thank you Boots 75% sale :D)

Our new Boots is really quite disappointing! Which is probably just as well as its literally on my doorstep! No ACM and no higher end stuff like Clinique, Estee Lauder etc, in fact no beauty counter to speak of. More perfume than the old store for sure but no Chanel which is my favourite. Considering its a bigger store, its difficult to see what they've done with the extra space, only additional makeup I noticed was Models Own (spied some fab glittery polishes) and S&G. The layout and design of some of the other shops on the park like M&S and River Island is really welcoming and pleasant whereas Boots is just like a big warehouse. Could have done so much better.... Will most likely save me some money though so shouldn't grumble!!

Had a UU this morning, almost a surprise as I never see this one coming - Bastiste Deep & Dark Brown Dry Shampoo - HG, will replace later, most probably in the Boots I've just used a paragraph running down :o

Also must report that I'm really quite impressed with the Percy & Reed No Oil Oil that was free with Glamour, its much better suited to my hair than the L'Oreal one, doesn't leave my hair feeling at all greasy and I don't need anything to finish it like I usually do i.e a drop of serum. May stock up on another while its such a bargain, even though the bottle will last ages as I only need a tiny bit. Also loving the Garnier Moisture Match, they're giving free samples away via their Facebook page if anyone fancies it, I've got the Protect & Glow and it is really lovely, so pleased with it for such a bargain price. Could be a HG I think.

I've been to work and the gym today so feeling rather :A, looking forward to a quiet night in and some yummy looking pasta for tea from M&S with a nice glass of wine or two

    Sorry, missed out the....

:bdaycake::bdaycake: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL CONCERNED!

I haven't even started on my winter shower gels, but that's because they're all Philosophy shower gel/shampoos from the sales, so I want to use up all my shampoo before I start in on them. That is subject to change though!

emsjune78 - Sorry to hear you're feeling down and that your new Boots hasn't lived up to expectations!

We have several Boots here, my favourite is the biggest out of town one as it has a good selection including pretty much all perfumes (I love Chanel too!) and I don't have to pay for parking, no counters except No.7 though. The one in town has all the counters but still no Chanel *Grrrrrr*

I have just had a shower and have another UU to report....

Elemis Skin Nourishing Shower Cream 300ml - WNBA, it was lovely and everything but it didn't last long at all, I got it in a gift set for £12 but the RRP is a £22. Admittedly though I do steam through my shower stuff, so I will stick with my HG Soap & Glory ones for about £7 for 500ml (plus 3 for 2 ;)).

I also opened my first tub of S&G Sugar Crush, I have to say I'm not massively impressed! The smell is a bit weird, and the texture is not as good as other S&G scrubs. I much prefer The Breakfast Scrub, loads better!

What is your skin tone KT? I have a light olive tone to my skin and find that most Benefit stains are not pigmented enough for me to see them when applied. The only one that has worked for me is the Cha Cha Tint. Dandelion is lovely though. My fave Benefit blusher is Dallas but my favourite brand for blushers is Laura Geller.

I am fairly pale skinned - not really pale, think with yellowy undertones, if that makes sense?! I think I will go and visit a counter and try a few things out.

Dandelion is very pretty, Coralista by Benefit is also nice, richer colour. Benetint is easier to blend than Posietint I find. L'oreal have just launched a nude magique blusher and I tried it in Boots this week and it has the texture of a serum, goes on almost clear then comes up as the most gorgeous natural flush.

Ooh maybe I will also go and try the L'oreal out.

Happy birthday to you Dolly and to Happy Torty. Hope you are both having lovely days.

Dolly - what lovely gifts! I would be interested to know what the Benefit world famous neutrals palettes are like. I have looked at them online and thought they looked great. I do love Benefit.

Started to look at higher end make up products recently after reading many a beauty blog. Need to invest in some Mac products!

Just a small one today, a sample of some lemon hand cream. No idea where its from. OK, but was very thick and smelt like lemon polish. Tee hee.

The original research that had Aldi beating Boots was done by scientists for the BBC's Horizon programme. This link is to the Daily Mail, I'm afraid, but it is quite comprehensive.

I've also used their Wrinkle Stop, which was very good. I've used the newly bought Aldi serum a couple of times and it is lovely. I put it on, let it soak in a bit and then applied an Olay cream with an SPF on the top. Haven't tried it with my Avon BB cream yet, but it works well with the Olay.

Thanks For the ino and link And. I have put this in my "to be purchased" list. Still to finish off the P&P one and a an Olay one.
