Totoriko,
Three posts above your last I quoted your previous instructions, clearly no-one wants to read these or be bothered looking for them.
Thanks again.
P.s. I hope you don't mind but I also quoted you on the techie board for this phone, which I thought may be useful.

No problem. As long as it can help others0 -

I'm not angry btw.0 -

I managed to successfully complete the application unlock process a few days ago.
Here is what I did:
1. Find and download SP_AllowCertificateInstall.cab. Copy this to your phone and run it. Restart the phone.
2. Find and download SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe. Run this on your PC (which you have your phone connected via ActiveSync).
3. Find and download regeditSTG2.exe. Copy this to your phone.
4. Find and download HTCUnlock-CVS.exe. Copy this to your phone and run the application. This will use regeditSTG2.exe to automate the required changes to the registry.
5. Find and download CheckLock. Copy this to the phone and run it. If all went well this application should say the phone is unlocked.
Reboot the phone. Re-run CheckLock to ensure none of the changes were reverted back.
The first four required files can be downloaded from here:
http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=251706&pid=819907&st=0&#entry819907
You will have to register with the site in order to download the files.
Please delete the above link if I have breaches some forum rule(s).
I cannot remember where I got CheckLock from, but it is freeware.
EDIT : I got CheckLock from here:

Hope that helps.
Thank you so much, I will give that a go.0 -
When you buy this phone there is a £30 airtime offer if you recommend a friend. If only 10% of the viewers of this thread bought the phone then the OP should get nearly £102,000 of airtime!!Comping 2008 wins £4842 2009 wins £950.50 2010 Wins £140 2011 £00

Daryl, thanks so much for the information, however I have noted two potential ( for people like me) problems.
The first of which is that when you download SP_AllowCertificateInstall.cab, it shows as a WinRar file if thats the compression software that you are using. Also when you unzip this file using winrar it creates a file called setup and when you transfer it to the phone it will run in a half hearted sort of way, so it can be confusing, so to simplify things people - make sure that you don't unzip the SP_AllowCertificateInstall.cab file before attemting to run it on your phone.
Secondly,
In point 4 you say to copy the HTCUnlock-CVS.exe file to your phone, you need to actually run this file from your pc with the regeditSTG2.exe placed on your phone. I do not know if you need the file on your phone aswell, but if you try and run it direct from the phone it comes up as a non valid program.
Other than that a brilliant set of instructions that are much easier to fathom and use than any others that I have seen. Now to try and install Tomtom.
Thanks
Ali.
It would probably be a good idea to copy the ammended version over to the techie thread, however I don't want to steal your credit for the instructions. If at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.0 -
Anyone any ideas as to why my tomtom install is crashing as soon as it wants me to choose a voice?
Thanks in advance

You're using the wrong version of TTM5 - sounds like you're trying to install the Symbian phones version (nokia phones) rather than the Windows Mobile version.
Let me explain...there are two types of mobile smartphone about. There's the Symbian based OS smartphone (Nokia 6680, 6630, N73, N80, etc), then there are Windows Mobile smartphones (Orange SPV500, Lobster 700, etc). They run different versions of tomtom specifically designed to match the OS of the phone. It gets even more complicated than that! The Nokia 6630, for example, is running Symbian OS v2, whereas the Nokia N73 is running Symbian OS v3. TTM5 Symbian OS won't work on the N73, as it only works on Symbian OS v2 phones. Only TT Navigator 6 works on the N73, N80 and N95, as that's designed to work on Symbian OS3 phones. You don't have to worry about that, though, as the Lobster is a Windows Mobile smartphone - only TTM5 for Windows Mobile 5 smartphones will work on it.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

why dont you just enjoy the thing instead of trying to get TOMMY,TOMMY IN the bloody thing! i mean if youve got sat nav why bother, although i do appreciate it is a low cost solution if you don't have one. cheers everyone!:T0 -
If you have an account with virgin mobile you can get it for £10 cheaper, if you buy it without a sim card.Tesco 8 o'clock Saturday night reduced bread 10p :rotfl:0

Alictait, I am having the same problem as you. I have 2 lobsters, both been application unlocked and had the A2DP mod. One took the A2DP mod and runs Tomtom perfectly paired with a Navman Spin. I am persevering with the second one but it doesn't show the A2DP hack, and hangs at the voice screen. If I make any progress I will post on here.0
