They tried, but by the time they got round to doing something about it, the company folded and re-started in another name. All in all at that time, I think there was something like 15 companies all inter trading with each other.0 -
Don't feed the troll and the inbred sibling!
No matter how much you tell people overdrafts are payable on demand, they always have an if, but, blah blah.
If you use an overdraft, pay it back when a demand is made!
No excuses, no extensions, no justifications, no talking.
Sell your nan, wife, kids - Payment please.
I want the money back NOW!
Why even bother to sit and "Chat and discuss." If you can't pay, get out and arrange a payment plan with collections and don't waste my time. Don't even come back even if you win the lottery.0 -

Ah, so phoenixing.
Which is as dodgy as one gets without being expressly illegal. All in all at that time, I think there was something like 15 companies all inter trading with each other.

Just to bring the whole matter to a conclusion - my brother is now very happy with what the Halifax have offered him and he and the bank staff have a good working relationship.
As for Nat West, he submitted his complaints to the Business Recovery Unit who in turn forwarded it to the Complaints dept. He has had a lovely letter back from them full of apologies agreeing that he was let down with no one contacting him any earlier. They even sent him a nice cheque to compensate him - we all had an indian take away on it!
So things have resolved themselves in the way my brother wanted. By the way he has arranged to repay the overdraft off (without any further interest being added) with small monthly payments.
So there you go, to get anywhere in life you have to try and retain control of a situation over the other person.0 -
I have a feeling this thread will reemerge soon when Halifax get wind of what is going on LOL.0

Do Halifax offer business accounts?
I thought Lloyds did the business side and Halifax the consumer.0 -

You think they've investigated it in the week since it occurred? Dream on. They're glad to have got rid of a troublesome customer who costs them a fortune in management time. Your celebration would have been nothing compared to that of the branch staff who no longer have to deal with him.0 -
I've dealt with complaints for the bank where i work. It won't have been investigated. Sometimes, it's better to just get rid, sounds like Natwest felt the price of an Indian was worth it ! I'm surprised he accepted it, surely he would have been looking for much more ?0
