He said it was ooo and the engineer was coming tomorrow to fix it (sort of true and true), but that she could get her washing done and dried where she works for £1.50 a load. She said, 'I'd much rather get it done here.' Honestly, the amount people expect for £85 astonishes me.
I'm so glad I got today's Flying finished yesterday, as I've been mega-busy this morning. Made the Shepherd Spy, half of which we had at noon (dins midday when Mr LW is wfh) also made a banana cake, which is now cooling on the rack; I found a recipe in the K£nwood book which went with the old (and sadly deceased) FP, which just involved chucking everything into the FP and wuzzing it. Much better for my paws than mixing by hand!:D I hope it's nice, as it's for Mr LW's lunch box.:o
Got to go to the hossy to have my shoulder scanned in a little while.:( Not looking forward to it (I hate hospitals) and tbh, I think it'll be a waste of time, as the excruciating pain has spread to so many other joints, but they want to do it, so who am I to argue?:cool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Aha, had wondered as my contact lenses/eyes are arguing, and that usually heralds the sign of the dreaded pollen. Always starts just as my annual cl check-up is due.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Must get off bum now and do some flying; afternoon students have cancelled so I mustn't waste the time. HH whatever commencing 14.20 anyone?Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0

Smile sweetly, and say "Of course you can use it.... I charge £5 per load, payable in advance".:D
I could do with the £5, but she'd then want me to show her how to use it, give her exactly the right bio/non-bio powder/liquid and conditioner, followed by the pegs and show her where to hang it out and expect me to get it in later. NO THANK YOU. I'm going to say the engineer who is coming this afternoon has sent off for a part, and he thinks it should arrive next week, but not to hold our breath. (In actual fact, he's actually bringing another washing machine on the off-chance he can't fix the knocking sound!)
This wretched woman phoned me last week, completely desperate, because she couldn't find anywhere else to stay, and once she had, they'd phoned back to say it wouldn't be possible to take her after all. (I wonder why.) Tbh, I knew when I took the booking she was going to be a nightmare - anyone whose mouth and brain are permanently switched to 'Send' rather than 'Receive' gives me the heebie-jeebies. I get quite wound up when people ask a question, and as you get three words into the answer, start talking over you. She's one of those.
Far easier to just say the WM isn't working. No?
I have swept and mopped the kitchen and the bathroom!Better is good enough.0 -
Oh dear, HB I hope she isn't staying with you for long.:( She sounds awful! I agree about the talking over you - call me old-fashioned, but in my book, if you ask a question, you should have the manners to listen while the other person answers it. This is a classic example of why my house-guests are of the canine persuasion.:o
I have to sign off now, and get ready to trundle off to the hossy, so I'll "see" you all tomorrow.
Happy Flying!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Also ensure you are drinking enough water to hydrate from inside, in winter we often do not recognise thirst enough.
Thanks Dusty, feels like it's everywhere - legs, head, back, hips - driving me insane. Got some acqueous cream and Surcare (think that's what it's called) washing powder and fabric conditioner. I just have to think about it and I feel itchy so trying to think about other things! I don't always drink enough but trying to swig glasses of water.
Blimming computer crashed 4 times and I've lost a lot of the work I've done.:mad:. Going to stomp off on the school run now.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
