Evening all,
Nearly the weekend, yay!
Settled up final part of boiler repair today,so glad its all sorted and paid for.
NSD apart from that.
Ordered lots of tesco reward vouchers for trip to zoo and meal out when we're away in just over a fortnight.
1 job pay day tomorrow, so will off-set that against the mortgage overdraft straight away.
Lots of bits to do tomorrow. Postponing doing the fencing until next week due to weather conditions. Bit wild, wet and windy down here at the moment.
Need few bits of fruit for the weekend so will pop to lidls tomorrow.
Very proud mummy moment today, son doing SATS soon and has been put in for level 6 Reading, did his first attempt at the homework and got a mark that would be a pass in the test :T:T:T
Now just got to track down my deodorant that the tiddler has hidden....0 -

Evening all,
Hope everyone keeping warm. Brrr here but no snow which is a blessing.
Not much activity here.
Boots sent me a £5 voucher for doing an online survey, which was very nice of them. It was all about shades of lipstick, I didn't like to tell them I couldn't tell the difference between quite a few of the shades!
Shopping been minimal which is both a bit :j and a bit. We did fall off the meal-planning wagon yesterday, and fell straight into the chinese take-away. Was very scrummy though and did us for tea tonight so not too bad really.
Took kids to the park today which was very MSE, if a bit breezy. So nice to see them all playing together and not arguing or engrossed in digital entertainment. Some better weather please and then we can make it a more frequent activity.
MOP-wise have been off-setting every penny against mortgage overdraft, rather too sucessfully as didn't leave anything in joint account when went to Lidls the other day and so debit card declined, cue digging out of old current account card and rushing home to transfer funds about, think perhaps need to leave a £50 buffer in current account in future.
Fab sister sent loo rolls, rice, squash etc down with the olds, so stocked up on all that again.
Fencing becoming a bit of a saga, won't bore you with details, but has turned out more expensive than hoped (doesn't it always?) Just need the temperature to get and stay above freezing so concrete will go off, and the wind to drop to less than gale force so panels and posts can move from off the palet in front garden around to the back where they need to reside. Then I (I say I,what I really mean is hubby) can chop up the pallett to burn and keep us warm.
So to round up:
Things I am gratfeul for
1) smart but kind kids
2) son looking after little 'uns this morning while we had lie in
3) sister and has costco account card
4) 4 get-ups until Easter hols and excuse to eat lots of choccy
5) not living in Cyprus currently.0 -
Been a busy few days, lots of work, house and kid stuff, all the usual, nothing very exciting.
TT of £1.43 done
Mini-Off-Setting continuing
Meal planning and sticking to it going ok
Stayed out of waitrose
Have booked trazelzoo mini break £99 for 1 night dinner bed and brekkie for hubby and me, in city we've always wanted to visit, something nice to look forward to as in June. Cheers granny for agreeing to babsit.
Still awaiting half the fencing to be collected and taken away and another half to be delivered, but am reliably informed its too cold to put fence up as concrete won't set.
Son in choral festival tomorrow night, school end of term disco to help with Thursday, then I will be mostly eatting chocolate.0 -
Hey sis, what go on?
Trying to convince J to get Makro... even more bulk buying opportunities hee hee0 -
Hey sis.
Happy Easter all.
Very frustrated as went online today to do loads of money movements, including £5 halifax reward payment over to the mortgage reserve, but no transactions possible until tomorrow due to wretched bank holiday, hurrmph.
Instead have to console myself with spreadsheet tinkering, and planning all transactions I will do tomorrow morning.
Have been buying a few bargains in w'rose, so freezer has some nice bits in. We're in pre-holiday mode now though as taking the kids away for a few days next week. So need to use stuff up and clear out the fridge by the end of the week.
Had a nice (cheap) evening with neighbours with similar aged kids yesterday, just a few beers and some nibbles. Must do it more often. Slightly embarrassing as our 2 year old scribbled on their wall, need to offer use of hubby and paint pot to repair the damage!
Did mega big shop for the holiday cottage I look after the other day, over £200 at t3sco, glad it wasn't my bill, and grateful for the clubcard points.
Hubby working this afternppn (bank holiday overtime, yay!) son at grannies, so girls and I watching the cbeebies Christmas panto, I know its Easter but girls fanced it on the iplayer, so chilling out with them, catching up on diaries.
Enjoy the bank holiday.0 -
Hello you are doing well and what a happy life you have.
May I congratulate you on your weight loss. Can I please ask, do you think it is possible to do S W without joining a weekly weigh in? I have a new book thinking about starting this week not sure I can go it alone, not sure I can do it with support!!!!
Fancy sorting out overpayments online and doing Tillies Tidies very good indeed.Debt Sept 2012 £140,000 end age 65.5 (maximum) four mortgages in total
April 2016 £114,599.83 (3 mortgages now)
Nil debt for some many years now perhaps 8. Need to save for a tent for holiday this year but nil else.
Over paying about £500 per month but fancy £600 so will have to think of some very money saving techniques...0 -
Hi Pennypincher,
thanks for stopping by. I have to admit to having slipped a bit on the old diet lately so have removed the line form my signature as it was telling a bit of a porky.
Yes its possible to do slimming world on your own, but I have to say I find it harder when I don't go. There's nothing like the shame of having to get on the scales on front of someone else to stop you stuffing a chocolate cake in your pie hole. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I WILL be going back after my holibobs next week. (Remind me of that someone please)
MSE-wise, have been off-setting like a crazy woman, done to within £10 of (free) overdraft limit, but am away next week so need to leave money in account in case anything goes out unexpectedly, whilst I can't check on a daily basis. Finding myself quite cross that I can't throw every penny against the mortgage overdraft, but keep telling myself its only for a few days and better to leave a buffer in the account than have an unexpected payment go out and get charged.
Had a pay out of £7.84 from one poll+surveys, o'ped that straight away.
Kids getting very excited about going away (Are you there Woolly Bear?)
Have to say am less enthused about 4 nights with 3 kids in chilly caravan, come on sunshine, out you come now, don't be shy.
Holiday cottage changeover tomorrow, fingers crossed for lots of goodies left by guests, as we're resorting to using up bits and pieces in fridge before we go away.
Have a good Friday evening all.0 -

Ha, you think that's bad? We've resorted to drinking the cooking wine we got in France on last booze cruise over a year ago  It's in plastic bottles
Talking of, thinking of another one soon...
Hav a good oliday! x0
